Resident Engineer

I am responsible for the rehabilitation of The Staten Island Railway Interlocking and Terminal at St. George in Staten Island. The work includes refurbishing two signal towers, realigning the interlocking, installing new track and track special work, installing new traction power cables, and any other thing needed for the smooth operation of a railroad. All of this has to be proofed against another flood event similar to Superstorm Sandy. $79,500,000.

My last assignment had me administering a contract for the NY Thruway Authority. The contract has four simultaneously running parts; 1) Construct a pump station, 2) Construct a floodwall, 3) Repair the substructure and stringers of 2 bridges, and 4) pave twenty route miles of the Thruway. I am also responsible for the engineering services during construction for this contract. My prior projects include the rehabilitation of the Lower Hack Lift Bridge and its approach ramps, remediation of ID27 contaminated soil, constructing the HBLR 2nd Street Walkway, and the lead remediation and painting of the HX Drawbridge. These last projects were for NJ Transit.

1998 - 2008 Kupper Associates Piscataway, NJ

Resident Engineer

Provide Construction Management for the rehabilitation of the 3 Ventilation Buildings of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel for the MTA B&T, several bridge painting contracts for the NJHA, and the reconstruction of the Cheesequake Travel Plaza on the Garden State Parkway. I also participated in paving and median crossover protection contracts with the NJDOT. There was one project in Bayside, Queens for the whole reconstruction of a community. It was bounded by Bell Boulevard on the East, the Clearview Expressway on the West, Union Turnpike on the North, and 86th Ave. on the South. The work included water main replacement, sanitary and storm sewer replacement, full roadway reconstruction (concrete, binder, and finish), curb replacement, and sidewalk replacement. Coordination was needed among the project and the NYC Departments of Education, Parks, and Health.
