Business Research Analyst (Presently) - Primarily responsible for all reporting for assigned accounts, ensuring that the reports are accurate and timely. Works closely with Sales, Account Management and Underwriting to ensure the most complete and cost effective reporting, analysis and recommendations for their assigned accounts. Served as functional coordinator of day-to-day department activities and as consultant to lower level associates. Performs as Project Manager for scheduling and updates of release based reporting software enhancements and issue resolution. Acts as primary liaison between I/S, Business SMEs, Clients, and Client Reporting areas, gathering business requirements for reporting enhancements, working with I/S on functionality and program specs, performing testing needed for production implementation and post production validation. Responsible for performing all Help Desk functions related to SWM-GA systems/network. Developed and implemented a Preventive Maintenance schedule for all duplicating, printing and fax equipment to ensure a minimum of downtime and optimum performance. Coordinate efforts between SWM-GA and corporate MIS for the creation of an Over Time tracking Access database which increased the tracking and reporting efficiency 80%. 2001 to 2003 – Field Service Engineer, Acterna Corporation, Bradenton, FL

Travel to customer sites to install Acterna hardware and software. While on-site provide technical support for Acterna hardware and software installed. Assist and instruct customer in identifying network faults effecting Acterna product performance on Hybrid Fiber Coaxial cable network plant (CATV), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Assisted customer in troubleshooting LAN/WAN network issues on equipment such as Cisco routers/switches, Firewalls, Microsoft OS platforms (98/2k/NT/Me/2k/XP-NT Server), basic Unix and Oracle troubleshooting, plus many others.

Perform Project Management duties as Installation Point of Contact. It was my responsibility to ensure scheduled equipment arrival, site readiness, Acterna Engineer readiness and on-time arrival. Identify and resolve any issues that might hinder the installation, or training.

Perform on-site training of customer personnel. Directly involved in installation of projects and responsible for completeness overall. Coordinated the activities at customer sites in all aspects of the implementation of Acterna products.

Conduct Alpha and Beta software testing at customer location. This involved the customer coordination, software installation, stress testing, and report generation. 1992 to 2001 – United States Air Force Network Engineer / Comm Systems

Managed and mentored two independent teams consisting of 3 direct reports within each team. Responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting both secure and non-secure Mobile Data Network Infrastructures for the United States Air Force. The mobile networks consisted of Cisco proprietary routers for network traffic routing. Pairgain T1 modems for long haul connections, and standard hubs for facility connectivity.

Responsible for design and implementation of network projects and installation for the 3,000 node Andersen Air Force Base Metropolitan Area Network. Reviewed project design documents for technical validity and proper integration to existing network technology.

Coordinated, and assisted in acceptance testing, QA, faulting isolation, and restoration of the Cisco 7500 series FDDI backbone. Integrating, configured, tested, monitored, analyzed, controlled, and restored systems to maintain top performance of the base infrastructure.

Facilitated the installation of the first ATM backbone on the base by installing three Cisco Catalyst 5500s, and two Cisco Catalyst 8500 switches. Effectively planned, and implemented a strategy to cut over existing FDDI Ring to the ATM backbone without loss of service to end users.

Project leader responsible for installed, configured, tested, and monitored all equipment necessary to bring the first ever xDSL technology to Andersen Air Force Base. Coordinated the installation of the equipment racks, as well as the installation of the DC power required by the equipment. Researched and developed a configuration plan for the various equipment, and IOSs involved in the installation. As well as user based instructions for Cisco’s View Runner Software.

Team lead for Cisco 2511 Access server upgrade. Provided Technical Solution to give 56K access to remote users off base. Coordinated the upgrade of the existing service from 33.6K to 56K without downtime to users.

Effectively isolated multiple transmission media outages. Pinpointing fiber optic and twisted pair cable beaks with the use of optical testing equipment. Isolated physical layer problems quickly and returned service to the customer with minimal downtime. Remotely tested subscriber equipment, end-to-end circuits, systems, and networks to verify the services provided and input/output signals met standard.

Designed the infrastructures architecture for secure/classified Local Area Networks. Involving connecting, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring equipment such as fiber optic modems, routers, CSU/DSUs, and encryption devices.

Transcribed technical documentation / instructions which led non-computer professionals through the restoration of configuration in the event a technician was unavailable. This ensured minimal downtime for users in the event of an equipment malfunction. Developed in depth training procedures for instructing new technician entering the duty instructions for the equipment residing on Andersen Air Force Base’s LAN/WAN.

Maintained network integrity using IP Openview, Enterprise View, Cisco Works, and Cisco Works for Switched Internetworks. Maintain various facets of system security features through implementation of Access Lists, policy routing, and the use of Network General Sniffer.
