Summary

I have been in five bond programs (K-12 and higher education) and general contracting. As a result, I have built a large list of lessons learned and have a full tool kit to put together the Master Schedule (Pre-Design, Design, Third Party Consultant, Bidding and Proposal, Construction and Post Construction/Close Out), Bidding Strategy, two week look ahead, and monthly PM and/or owner updates. I teach PMs how to complete a Bid Package on time and I teach GCs how to do Project CPM scheduling, monthly updates, and recovery schedules. I know what happens to the program manager when a bond program stalls, when projects have difficulty getting their G704s, when Close Out is delayed because Final Completion is four months late. Hear the truth ... or hide the truth. It is time to use those lessons learned and tool kit on new endeavors. When discussing time lines, I like to tell this story. The deadline for getting the Advertisement to Bid in the newspaper is 5PM on Wednesday. You show up a 5:01. The ad becomes one week late, that one week late costs you three months on the Board approval for the Enter and Negotiate (the board meets quarterly). That one minute, caused the Owner a three month delay, and the opportunity for the GC to start. Planning. Six years estimating experience. At Big Sky Construction, I was Preconstruction Services doing quantity take offs and subcontractor bid evaluations on municipal, education and corporate new construction and renovation projects for 32 bid packages ranging from $400,000 to $17 Mil and initial Project Engineer for just started construction projects. Using Vertigraph, Inc – BidScreen v6, iSqFt, Blue Book Bid and Drop Box. Project Analyst, Construction Analyst, Program Controls, Construction Manager, Asst Project Manager, Schedule Engineer, and Estimator are in my program manager, general contractor, forensic, multi family and D/FW Airport background.
