Alcoa, Lead Supervisor of Small Aerospace Operations July 2014-Present
Lead supervisor for Final Repair and Inspection Department. Direct supervision of 20-30 hourly employees and indirect supervision of two off-shift managers and 20-30 employees. Plan, coordinate, and direct the processing of products to support customer demand while maintaining all production and related quality assurance records according to the financial plan. Coordinate with Business Planning to ensure proper product is run and shipping schedule is adhered to. Prepare all upcoming shifts with production schedules, priority lists, and quality concerns. Schedule department overtime. Predict daily production and shipping targets and present at daily plant production meeting.
Direct the implementation of Alcoa Business System initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, continuous improvement, standardized work, work balance, product flow and Total Productive Maintenance improvements. Member of CI team that implemented new work station to increase department productivity. Work with Quality and Thermal teams to ensure compliance for NADCAP, ISO, Government, and Customer Audit standards. Previously supervised and currently assist with Heat Treat and CNC Machine operations.

Improved overtime scheduling by eliminating mandatory overtime and offering voluntary overtime opportunities only as needed. Approximate overtime cost savings of 50%. Improved on-time-delivery by approximately 20% by creating and maintaining a priority list based upon promised ship dates. Reduced backlog month over month. Erected Sulfur Recovery Unit at British Petroleum: Direct supervision of six-man crew with additional indirect supervision of ten supporting tradesmen. Prioritized work and assigned jobs accordingly. Identified and corrected fabrication mistakes and blueprint errors while maintaining proper materials for crewmembers. Provided job training to new and existing employees to ensure safety and plant procedures are being upheld.
Upgraded #1 Pickle Line at Mittal Steel: Direct supervision of six-man crew. Ensured proper working conditions including machine inspection and maintenance, performing Task Hazard Analysis, and maintaining communication during simultaneous operations. Engineered better design layout prior to installation.
