December 2014 EFFECT OF CARBONIZED RICE HUSK TO BINDER MIXTURE RATIO AND BRIQUETTING TEMPERATURE ON THE

PROPERTIES OF CHARCOAL BRIQUETTES FROM RICE HUSK

A study on utilizing agricultural wastes, such as rice husk, from Bagac, Bataan and turning them into refused derived fuel. The rice husks were carbonized and mixed with cassava starch using three different ratios. The mixture was then heated to three different temperatures before being pressed and molded. The finished products were analyzed using a Shimadzu TGA-50 for Proximate Analysis; Moisture content, Fixed Carbon Content, Volatile Matter, and Ash, and the Calorific Value was measured using a bomb calorimeter. The research will be used by the Jaime Hilario Integrated School in Bagac, Bataan to spread knowledge to the community on how to utilize their agricultural wastes.

Born on June 24, 1991 in Pasig City, Philippines. Fluent in English and Filipino. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Programs. Familiar with the use of AutoCAD Software, C++, MATLAB, and LINGO. Interests: Tennis, Baking, and Watching movies and series. Goal- driven, Responsible, Adaptable, Organized.
