WORK EXPERIENCE –

Jan 2015 - Present:

Lead Product Engineer, TEC International; All engineering activities related to products design development of Mechanical Systems. Using Solidworks CAE, CAD & BOM software tools with AHSS applications. Conduct CAD mechanical product engineering training such as APQP, DFMEA to follow a product development from concept stage to launch phase including FAI (First article inspection). It also includes follow up on prototype field testing and life time management with customer experience. Lead DFMEA teams for a number of new products. Managed and approved all drawing releases from design and engineering department side. Typical products include, gearboxes, machinery components, fans, cooling systems. Experience with plastic and sheet metal components .etc.

December 2012- Jan. 2015:

Project manager, Restraints Systems Department, Autolive NA. lead project management of restraints systems such as airbags, seats, seatbelts to design counter measures for automotive systems to meet government regulations. Work also include dummy investigations and human biomechanics using CAE tools such as Altair hypermesh and LS-DYNA (also, RADIOSS and ABAQUS). Benchmarking of different CAE-ID packages for nonlinear CAE simulation; including PAM-STAMP, DYNAFORM, AUTOFORM and alike

Jan.11- December 2012 :

Project engineer, for Mechanical &Biomechnical Automotive Occupant protection systems such as evaluation of seats, dummies, belts, airbags systems. Teaching graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics.

Contracts also included preparing and conducting training workshops on NASTRAN and later on LSDYNA. I also did similar workshops at Ford for new vehicle crash product engineers to train them on LSDYNA to switch from RADIOSS use.

My class workshop covered a lot of automotive training applications from airbag & tires to full vehicle models. It also cover a range from introductory to optimization techniques. I do have material to compare different explicit and implicit non-linear analyses codes through benchmarks exercises.

Several government and industrial. Projects conducted at USARMY (TARDEC). Typical Projects Also, include, Truck& Bus interior and seat design CAE, simulations of seat systems for various FMVSS (207, 210, 208, 225, Cargo Retention, Rear impact). Interface with client during all stages of project to define requirements, discuss results, make design change recommendations Help manage projects with adherence to quality standards, best practices and methods in a timely manner. Exterior vehicle crashworthiness, Crew Safety simulation and protection against blast.

Sept. 2009 – Dec. 2011:

- JHU/APL/LTU – Teaching Computational Simulation Graduate courses at Johns Hopkins Extension programs.

-National Security Technology Department, Professional Staff II, STG, Applied Physics Lab. Johns Hopkins University

-Leading the efforts to assess biomechanics of human injury to blast and ballistic events using computational modeling and simulation and experimental investigations. Use of different CAE packages such as HyperWorks (meshing, simulation, optimization), LSDYNA, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS and STAR-3D.

-Project leader for a variety of system & CAE simulation projects in mechanical & biomedical systems.

2006 – Nov. 2008: DaimlerChrysler LLC – Analyst and project manager, Occupant Safety group of the Experimental & Computational Mechanics department of the scientific labs section of the Chrysler Group. The group consists of Leaders and project managers for variety of test & analysis programs in the area of vehicle & pedestrian safety such as frontal impact advanced restraints, side Impact, rear impact and seat designs. Projects also include biomechanics of injury risks and human body modeling simulations. The group also supports legal efforts and provides technical support for government replies to different NHTSA regulations such as 208, 214, 210, 201, 213 and others. Some projects monitors and evaluates new and advanced dummies such as THOR, POLAR II, BioRID, RID III..etc. Occupant analysis and simulation; DaimlerChrysler Scientific Labs and Proving Grounds; Duties include leading crash and safety analysis under different impact conditions and correlate with experimental testing.
