EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:

Aside from the Hotel Industry employments listed below, employment was also in a variety of industries outside of the Hotel Industry, those that are separately listed below as "Most Recent". These organizations were challenging and also in demanding sales and marketing arenas, namely the wholesale produce business, the importing and wholesale marketing of high-end men's wear accessories and the cemetery / funeral arrangements, sales and service field. All of these involvements were by way of family history in these industries. Finally, my extensive work in high fashion retail and furs, both as a manager and buyer.

Most recently, as a manager and buyer for a high-end, 109 year old, family owned and family operated, women’s retail fashion store in metropolitan Washington, DC. The store has since closed its doors, this as of July 31, 2016.

A seasoned hotel executive with the ability to plan, design and organize new hotel department operations and major projects and events, as well as clearly communicate and delegate plans and actions to work teams.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

A diverse background including many departmental directorships for Catering Sales, Food & Beverage Operations, Corporate Hotel Sales, Convention Services, Kosher Catering, Off-Premises Catering

Developed and directed high-end catering and conference departments of several luxury hotels in a variety of venues all with strong social, corporate, association markets, most often doing so during the hotel’s pre/post opening, reopening, takeover or reorganization stages. Developed many well received customer and vendor relationship programs.

Created successful marketing plans, training manuals, wrote departmental policy, operating criteria initiating them with positive results in areas where no such structures existed previously. Devised critical paths and knowledgeable in menu design and development having developed many master working catering menus and hotel wine lists.

Experienced at forecasting, budgeting, operation’s analysis, FF & E, client/community relations, direct mail and telemarketing, staff training and hotel openings, maintained an active, high profile press and public relations image.

Proven to have strong selling skills in a variety of markets and the organizational proficiency to succeed under a variety of corporate philosophies, organizational mandates, budgets, facility constraints and responsibilities.

Maintained quality and healthy food and beverage costs averaging in these high-end luxury hotels, between 22% to 28 % food cost and 18% to 24% beverage cost. Created a myriad of profitable marketing events for hotel community involvement.

Proven success in sales and as a task force leader/member with openings, renovating and/or reorganizing hotels, essentially a "hands on" worker. Sales experience in a variety of demanding business arenas showing profitability from the operation's initial start.

Contributed regularly toward the cultivation of staff cross training and team spirit throughout hotels, elevating department morale and productivity as well as improving relations with other departments and disciplines.
