INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Electrical Engineer

Entergy, 06/15 to 08/16.

Worked as an Electrical Engineer within the Systems Engineering Department at River Bend Nuclear Station, St. Francisville, LA.

Provided rapid, high-quality engineering feedback and coordination. Performed troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and engineering changes.

Provided engineering support and maintained configuration control.

Interacted with other personnel, departments, and organizations to develop solutions.

Presented and defended work and recommendations to peers and management.

Applied and interpreted industrial safety, radiological safety, nuclear safety, engineering standards, procedures, policies, reg guides, licensing based documents, and design functions.

Conducted safety meetings, procedure review meetings, and behavior based safety (BBS) meetings representing the Systems Engineering Department at River Bend Nuclear Station.

Utilized Asset Suite software.

Electrical Engineer

CDI Aerospace, 06/13 to 09/14.

Performed various assignments working for GE-Aviation. Worked with maintenance and engineers to support the site.

Worked to develop designs to meet industry standards and business standards, such as NEC, ANSI / IEEE standards, and MIL-SPEC. Applied and interpreted industry standards and company standards, such as DO-178B, CMM standards, and IEEE.

Delivered recommendations with clarity and conviction. Worked with project proposals and customer requirements.

Electrical Engineer Lab Tech

The University of Texas, 05/10 to 12/12, Arlington, Texas.

Team Member and leader focused on successfully meeting project deadlines and completing project tasks. Responsible for executing MEMS devices, researching, strategies and design of fabrication, testing, repeatability, technical support, and electrical design.

Engineering Apprentice

DeNovo Global Technology, 10/07 to 07/08, The Woodlands, Texas.

Worked with other engineers and draftsmen for the engineering plant design for Kreido Biofuels. Familiar with equipment and engineering for a biodiesel plant. Utilized Auto-Cad 2004, 3D/2D drawings for mechanical, structural, and electrical P&IDs required for the project scope.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project.

CAD: AutoCAD 2004, AlphaCAM. PCB Design: Eagle PCB.

Engineering Equipment: Oscilloscopes, Multi-Meters, Signal Generators.

Worked with soldering irons, heat guns, and wire strippers at Texas College.

Worked with PLCs.

Engineering Software: MATLAB, Simulink, BEACON, LABVIEW, Multi-SIM, PSPICE, CADENCE, C++. SKM Power Tools.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

MODERN ANALOG AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

Wireless Texting Applications using computer software MATLAB simulations.

ENERGY SYSTEMS

Reviewed theory, design, and application of large three phase transformers.

Examined overview designs of several Electrical Power Generating Plants, such as Fossil Fuels, Nuclear, and Hydro-Electric. Studied transmission/distribution design, and plant substation/switchgear/motor center equipment layouts.

Analyzed large electrical power distribution systems; including electrical equipment selections based on design load flow, overcurrent protection, fault analysis, and applications of the National Electric Code and NEMA standards. Also, included the study of motor controls and branch circuit designs and wiring methods.

Studied induction, synchronous, and DC motor designs and applications; including motor construction and performance (efficiency, torque/slip, speed/torque, pump/motor torque).

CONTROL SYSTEMS

Modeled and identified systems with MATLAB and Simulink. Speed control of DC Motor systems using PID controllers. State feedback control of double disk torsion spring systems. Familiar with variable speed motors and motor controls.

MICROCONTROLLERS

PIC24 applications using computer software MPLABX that worked by looking at its inputs and depending on their state, and the user entered program, turned on/off outputs.

DESIGNED A WIRELESS STRAIN SENSOR SYSTEM INOLVING MSP430 EZ430 eZ430RF2500.

The system consisted of an implanted transponder, a wearable unit that transferred electromagnetic energy, received signals in a microprocessor before sending out wirelessly, and a base station that received and recorded the wireless data. Fabricated the capacitor sensor, an interdigitated capacitive (IDC) strain sensor.

Worked with Data transmission and RF powering. Worked with relaxation oscillator circuitry to convert the changes in capacitance to frequency variations. Worked with class-E power amplifiers, envelope detectors to read load modulation signals, and wireless transceivers sending data to a base station.

Worked with Digital Logic, similar to PLCs.

Made connections with Logic Gates, Flip-Flops, and switches to simulate a fully functional six output Tail Light system for the Left, Right, and Hazard inputs.

Worked with AND, XOR, Inverters, clock pulses, OR gates, and more.

Generated truth tables for the function. Sketched the design circuit.

Tested in MULTISIM software. Connected Breadboard with correct components after MULTISIM software verified the circuit worked. Tested the Tail light system for Left, Right and Hazard inputs.
