PROJECTS

Project 1 ME PROJECT "IMPROVEMENT OF VORTEX TUBE COOLING PERFORMANCE USING COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS" in Anna university Coimbatore, Coimbatore. Period: July 2016 - July 2016

A complex flow of fluid inside the vortex tube was investigated using the computational Fluid dynamic method. The standard k- ε model can be used to calculate the Physical properties of the fluid flow and illustrated the thermal separation inside the Vortex tube. The model provides a reasonably accurate result compared to the existing investigation.

The vortex cooling capacity is to be improved by combining of the two processes like varying the dimension of cold outlet and adding the thermoelectric module in this process to improved cooling capacity and efficiency.

The thermoelectric module and cold fraction has an influence on the system performance, in which the best simulation condition for inlet pressure of 6 bar was at a cold fraction of 0.62 for the highest cooling and heating capacity

It was achieved at the dimension of vortex tube is 11.22 mm diameter with the cold orifice angle of 4.1. While using the thermoelectric module we can achieve the cooling efficiency by 13.34% respectively. Project 2 BE PROJECT "Designed and Fabricated “EFFECT OF VIBRATION ON MICRO AND MACRO PROPERTIES OF SMAW WELDMENT” in TRICHY Engineering College, Trichy. Period: February 2014 - April 2014

Welding process induces a state of residual stress into material and job. These possess series problem in the terms of dimensional stability, corrosion, cracking, reduced fatigue life and structural integrity.

Rectify the problem by using external force have been applied to induce fluid flow during solidification of weldment.

Vibratory conditioning commonly called as vibratory stress relief uses mechanical energy in form of low and high frequency vibration to relief residual stress in weldment.

We try this process in vertical welding (3G) position.
