Challenge: Recruited by Board of Directors to reverse stagnation, activate growth drivers, reduce the cost of goods sold and turnaround internal conflict.
Action: Broke board of directors’ stalemate, reduced its size to a more manageable level and established committee accountabilities and enforceable benchmarks. Renegotiated creditors notes with principal reduction, interest freeze and term adjustments. Drastically reduced costs with suppliers, eliminating vendors and renegotiated contracts. Implemented product redesigns to reduce cost and improve serviceability. Rebranded product lines, opened new market channels and launched education programs that trained client companies on new revenue streams with Westport’s products as well as upsell opportunities.
Results: Increase in morale was infectious. Usable capital increased by 27% and debt was reduced by 40%. COG’s were reduced by 65% and gross margins increased from 28% to 79%. Sales increased 5 fold. Established sales into 3 new major channels and new off shore markets created.

Actions: Executed a top to bottom organizational restructuring. Eliminated 30% of the licensees. Reduced royalties structure from 14% down to 7%. Reformulated primary product to be more effective and less wasteful. Created and executed a company wide mandatory training program to bring consistency to procedures and processes.
Results: Grew licensees profits by an average of 23%. Grew the company from 8 states and 30 representatives to 38 states, 14 countries and 168 representatives, increasing revenue by 220% and profits by 150%. Keynote speaker at conferences in Dundee Scotland, Auckland New Zealand and Sydney Australia that brought exposure that grew the company’s industries influence and revenues.
