RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER Jan 2015 - Jul 2015
Samraj Engineering Controls Private Ltd, Coimbatore, India
Process Improvement - Lowered the RPNs of the assembly processes to less than 50 by implementing several Poke Yokes; PFMEA was performed.
Significantly reduced waste by designing a new material handling and storage system for the assembly.
Promoted continuous improvement and reduced the assembly time of the compressor canopies by 7% through line balancing.
5% reduction in the cycle time was achieved through the implementation of Kaizen.
Developed the first Kanban and super market pull system.
Achieved cost savings of 4% by reducing non-value added activities in assembly process using customer preference matrix.
Cut the costs by 8.5% through performing Value Chain Analysis on the Compressor Canopy.
Developed and trained my team members on lean tools: Process Mapping, VSM and A3 report.
Established preventive maintenance schedule and eliminated the downtime of the equipment.
MANUFACTURING ENGINEER Aug 2014 – Dec 2014
RK Crusher Industries, Coimbatore, India
Product Design - Resolved the failures in the product achieving a whopping 6-month increased product life through conducting DFMEA; Reduced the RPNs below 40 through operator training and Design of Experimental trials.
Slashed the rejection level of the parts from the grinding process from 15.6% to 2.8% using DMAIC. Control Charts, ANOVA were used in this Analysis.
Achieved the CTQ characteristics for the grinding process which was 50% of the current defective PPM.
13% improvement in the throughput was achieved by eliminating the bottle necks identified from the capability/time studies.
Implemented QFD House of Quality(HOQ) and improved customer satisfactory levels and sales by 16%.
Developed Supplier Qualification Program that reduced the COPQ significantly
Investigated customer complaints and customer returned parts, conducted root cause analysis and developed corrective actions(CAPA).
Identified and eliminated the bottlenecks by using factory simulations: Arena was used for this simulation.
RELATED PROJECTS
Process flow simulation in Semi-Conductor industry Spring 2016
Simulated multiple scenarios using ARENA in order to eliminate the WIP and to minimize the cycle time of 2 product types passing through 2 manufacturing cells and also eliminated the bottlenecks.
Created the Investment Project proposal(IPP) for the procurement of new equipment; improved the productivity by 7% with no WIP and cut costs by 18% increasing the workforce utilization to 88%.
Toy Helicopter Design and Performance Assessment using SPC Spring 2016
Improved and standardized(SOP) the toy helicopter’s manufacturing processes through Statistical Process Control(SPC) methodology. Minitab was used for this analysis.
Conducted measurement systems analysis on the gauges used to measure the helicopter’s performance and improved it.
