Working as an “Operations Manager (Warehousing & Inventory Control & Logistics)” from June 2005.

Responsibilities:-

Planning, coordinating and controlling of the daily operations of the Warehouse & Logistics Department.

Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits, generating savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital.

Maintaining optimal stock levels to ensure timely availability of products.

Managing an Inventory team comprising of Shift Managers and team leaders.

Managing excess and ageing stock.

Reviewing service levels on a continuous basis.

Using electronic inventory tracking to scan stock and reconcile inventory.

Minimizing exposure to obsolete and excess stock.

Putting forward recommendations for operational policy, procedures and goals.

Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to report and analyze data.

Execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy.

The role carries responsibility for working with purchasing, goods inwards and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly.

Identifying the training needs, developing training programs for employees in consultation with other departments. Also identify and coordinate external training requirements when required.

Develop and improvement of the employee orientation documentation for the new workers. This includes communication of employee job expectations and safety.

Prepare various reports for management to help with the decisions regarding the current resources and also organize/attend periodic departmental meetings to discuss issues and policies.
