Nursing Assistant
Duties & Skills:
I worked directly for doctors, NPs, FNPs, and PAs. I built the patients’ medical charts for the providers to use during their patients' office visits. I called and faxed to retrieve patients medical information from hospitals and other doctors offices and used this information to build a patient's chart on the computer. This included previous medical history, social history, surgeries, family history, allergies, labs, imaging, consults, doctor office notes, procedure and surgical reports. I built charts for the practitioners in order for them to have the most productive appointment with the patient as possible. When the patient arrived for their visit I would take the patient's vitals (weight, height, BP, pulse, and respiration), enter patient's current medication list, reviewed the medical information with the patient and added any additional details needed, and took the patient's pharmacy information, and then hand chart over to the provider. I also ordered labs, did referrals, and ordered and scheduled imaging and other procedures. I worked with the drug reps to get sample medications, logged in the medication, and upon doctors' orders I would give samples to the patients. I explained prep to the patients prior to surgical procedures, tests, or imaging. I am excellent in clinical patient care and also have the computer skills and the medical knowledge to be an asset to a medical facility.
I am proficient in using AllScripts.
