49 consecutive years of Business Development, Business Incubator or Advanced Technology Center management experience.

I have farmed on a large scale for many years (1000 acres per year) and on a small scale (50-70 acres) as we scaled down our operation.

Teaching experience including 36 different technical courses including CAD/CAM for 16 years in a community college. Other classes taught in High School and community college include, welding, sheet metal, machine shop, physics, shop math, drafting, blueprint reading, entrepreneurial studies and electronics.

I have tutored students in algebra and geometry.

Employment:

June 2016-Present Business Development Consultant for private citizens to complete a business plan and secure funding if necessary for start-up or expansion of existing businesses.

Sept 2013-May 15, 2015 UCF SBDC Business Developer assigned to Lake County Florida with 30 businesses funded, 3.0 Million in funding for clients and 72 jobs created.

April 2012-Sept 2013, Small Business Development Director-Jefferson County Florida. We had 213 clients in 16 months and we had 36 businesses funded with 64 jobs created, 2.9 million in funding and Main Street has been revived.

January 2006-October 30, 2011- Small Business Development Director-Galax, VA. We were able to secure funding for 181 businesses and create 831 jobs in 6 years with 45 Million in funding. I was named the best business developer in 13 states in 2008 winning the “Jerry Davis” award and the State Star/best business developer in VA in 2011-Retired from SBDC to move to Florida.

January 2005 August 2005-Technology Instructor-Fort Meade Florida Middle, Senior High School. I was asked by the principal to take over a difficult situation. 51/100 students were failing when I took over and at the end of the semester 99/100 passed with an A or B and they loved the class. I took over a Wood Shop and changed the program to Graphic Design, Welding, Wood Working, Plastics, Composites, Carpentry and Sheet Metal.

March 2004-December 2004-Consultant for the Crossroads Institute and Business developer for the Crossroads Institute to establish the program that will be available in the future. I then came back in 2006 to become the SBDC Director for 2 counties and the city of Galax, VA. Until November 30, 2011.

October 1998-November 2003-President and CEO for Composites Solutions Inc. This company was a manufacturing company that bid on military contracts and had CAD/CAM and Composites capabilities in Columbia, SC. I Retired from Manufacturing in 2003.

July 1996-October 1998-Columbia, SC. Consultant for Great Lakes Composites Consortium. I was hired to write the grant that provided them with 25 Million per year for 5 years to operate the composites consortium for the U. S. Navy.

I was specifically recruited by the President of each of the following organizations because of my impact on previous organizations.

September 1995-June 1996-Assistant VP for Manufacturing Technology, Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland OH. I took this position to set-up the internal partnership between credit and non-credit programs in Manufacturing for the President. I also developed 150 non-credit courses and implemented the non-credit manufacturing division. Retired from Education

September 1992-September 1995-Southeast Manufacturing Technology Center, Columbia SC. I took this position as Director of Technology to save the organization. I was promoted to Director of Operations in 1 year and the Executive Director 1 year later. We saved the company and it is still in operation today as SCMEP. I took over and managed 13 states until the NIST organization created MTC’s in all states. We did 10 Million in training and consulting in year three. I was then asked to share the process we used with 25 State MTC’s over my last 6 months with the organization.

July 1989-September 1992, Dean Business Health and Technology and Advanced Technology Center Director, Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC. I was hired to upgrade all programs and to supervise the completion of the ATC and to develop a Business Incubator partnership. The college specifically hired me to build the enrollment using my system of certificate programs for each degree program. We had tremendous success.

July 1987-July 1989, Dean School of Technologies-Daytona Beach Community College, Daytona Beach, Florida. I completed plans for the ATC and first Business Incubator.

July 1985-July 1987, Dean Business and Technology, Triton College, River Grove, IL. I was hired to upgrade all programs and to develop an ATC. I was selected administrator of the year in 1987.

July 1983-July 1985, Department Chairman for Engineering Technology and Computer Science at Lorain County Community College, Elyria, OH. I was hired to upgrade all programs and to build the ATC and develop all partnerships for hardware and software. My programs were judged best in the nation in 1985 by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

September 1967-July 1983, Department Head for Industrial Technology at Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, MI. I started with an empty rented building and had the opportunity to plan the new facilities and acquire all equipment, hire faculty and grow the programs that were judged as world class on many occasions. I taught CAD/CAM, Fluid Power, Welding and Power Sources and was the Business Incubator Manager.

September 1962-September 1967-Department Head for all Vocational programs at Saline Area Schools, Saline Michigan. I also taught drafting, machine shop, welding and electronics. This was a part time position for the 3 years that I played basketball in the ABL.
