Project Title : Vehicle Mounting Unit(VMU)

The product assembly involves parts which involve different manufacturing processes like extrusion,pressure die casting and injection moulding. Involved in design and development of VMU,Created 3D models,assemblies and production drawings for each and every part of the assembly base on the inputs took from the stake holders

Project #2:

Project Title : 96POS(Ticketing Terminal)

Description: Electronic Bus Ticketing Machine which is especially made for Road Transport Corporations and Private Bus Operators.

As this terminal is used by the field operators with much crowd around them, he/she should feel comfort while handling the terminal, The form factor of the product has been strictly taken into account and the size of the product is maintained as per the tender specifications.

The main features of this product is that it has GPRS, Wifi, Bluetooth, IR, Thermal Printer. I designed the enclosure for this ticketing terminal right from the conceptual models to a strongly defined engineering model considering all the aspects of the plastic injection moulding principles such that to avoid sliders and lifters as much as possible without deviating from the function of the system. And also prepared the detail design of the each mechanical and electro mechanical components used in the product, created assemblies and assembled each components at specified position by taking the inputs and understanding the requirements of the cross functional teams.Generated BOM for specified variants of the product. Prepared document for the assembling procedure of the system and the subsystems for the production team and also rendered the models for Business teams.

Title : PCI-PED PINPAD

Description: An MPOS or PIN entry device is an electronic device used in a debit, credit or smart card-based transaction to accept and encrypt the cardholder's personal identification number (PIN). MPOS devices are normally used with integrated point of sale devices in which an electronic cash register is responsible for taking the sale amount and initiating/handling the transaction.

The MPOS or PIN entry device is required so that the customer card can be accessed (in the case of chip cards) and the PIN can be securely entered and encrypted before it is sent to the transaction manager of the switch or the bank.

As the product is used in secure environment with PCI-PED compliance,the system should be secured from attacks, So the system should be designed considering all the requirements specified in PCI-PED DTR’s(Derived Test Requirements).We should provide the anti tamper mechanisms in the system such that if any tamper is detected in the system then the sensitive data should be automatically erased and can’t be retrieved further. And also one should consider the assembly conditions such that the system shouldn’t reset or erase the data, Due to the vibrations or disturbance caused in the normal usage of the user. Should provide minimum two types of anti tamper mechanisms, such that if one mechanism is failed the other should protect the system from the attacker.

As the system is a portable device it should be as small as it can be with all the external features like wifi, Bluetooth,NFC, Magnetic stripe reader and smart card reader. Modeled all the components required for the secured system and assembled the parts as per the requirement and the rapid prototypes were tested physically for the required function

Roles & Responsibilities

Product Design:

Design & development of Electronic products like Transaction terminals or Point of Sale terminals (POS), Modems, Vehicle Tracking Units as per Product Development, Business Development & Marketing Departments specifications.

Design of plastic injection moulded parts, (with good understanding of mould flow analysis for warpage, gate location and plastic flow)

Computer Aided Design: Generating 3-D components, assemblies, and documentation.

Preparation of professional production drawings and coordination with production team.

Release of Engineering documentation (drawings, bill of material, and specifications)

Developing new fixtures, jigs to facilitate development / production.

Preparing and maintaining the documents as per ISO standards.

PLM:

Creating Parts, Assembly & Drawing through integration of Product Life cycle Management (PLM) with Pro/Engineer.

ECR, ECO creation and giving support until ECO release.

Able to work on Engineering Central, Design Central & Program Central.
