CORPORATE SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST; SUPPLY PLANNER – US EXPORTS

Sofina is a $3 billion Canadian privately owned food conglomerate and a leader in the Supermarket and Food Service industries. Known household brands include Lilydale, Janes, San Danielle, Mastro, Lavazza, San Benedetto among others. It is also engaged in Commodity Trading of live and raw Pork and Poultry. Operations entailed 18 manufacturing plants across Canada and the United States and export partners in Italy.

Reporting directly to the VP of Supply Chain, this role is responsible for providing visibility to the CEO/Owner and Executive Management Team members on all areas of supply chain through the regular issuance of KPIs, Metrics and Scorecards, reports and analytical assessments of how each facility is performing and recommends courses of action for continuous improvement and network optimization.

To successfully carry out this task involving heavy usage of analytics, the Corporate Supply Chain Analyst personally wrote computer codes and excel macros to interface and integrate information from the company’s 4 different systems – 2 ERPs, 1 MRP and 1 AS400 – that came with the 4 groups of companies the owner purchased at various points in time since the 1990’s to form the Sofina of today.

SUPPLY PLANNER, OTS (Contract – maternity leave replacement)

Portfolios handled: Listerine, Band Aid, Visine, Rembrandt and J&J Reach Floss. Duties and responsibilities included:

Meet/exceed Open Stock SKUs’ Unit Fill Rate targets for assigned brands and projects

Drives analysis, communication and corrective action for out of stock situations.

Develops adequate supply replenishment plans based on inventory position, supplier lead times, unconstrained open stock and promotional forecasts, supplier capacity, safety stock requirements. Issuing and managing of Non Stock P.O.'s to outside vendors.

Deploys inventory planning strategies to maintain and improve service levels and optimize inventory investment. Meets monthly inventory and DOS (days of stock) targets. Manages SLOB disposition on regular basis.

Actively seeks MOQs reduction opportunities across supplier base, put together business case and makes recommendations to the management team to drive and implement solutions.

Resolves exceptions to balance Supply and Demand; collaborate with relevant business partners in making decisions and tradeoffs that balance supply and demand; update, communicate and execute the agreed supply plan.

Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Strategy, Demand Planning, QA, Regulatory, Manufacturing Sites, Packaging Engineering to ensure on time execution of New Product Introductions, Promotional Activities as well as Discontinuations.

Leads Change Management and CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders. Change scope includes Graphics, Packaging change; Reformulations; Re-sites.

Actively supports S&OP process; elevate unresolved supply planning issues; provide input, offer potential solutions and execute follow-up activities.

Establishes collaborative relationships with multiple functions: Internal and External Suppliers, Global Planning and Affiliate Management Group, Marketing, Sales Strategy, Project Management, Trade Customization Planning, Demand Planning, Customer Service, Material Master, Distribution and Transportation, Quality Assurance, Finance, US & Global counterparts.

Acts as the main point of contact for assigned domestic and global suppliers.

Accurately maintains SAP system parameters for assigned SKU's.

Communicates a 12-18 month rolling forecast to assigned suppliers on a monthly basis.

Highlights thus far:

97% year to date overall UFR. Brought Band Aid UFR to unprecedented 99% (7 point increase) while keeping inventory within entitlement budget (green lights on KPIs across the board).

Provided Supply Planning support towards YTD 100% On Time Project Execution on New Product Launches including Listerine Ultraclean introduction.

Wrote Excel Macro to track exact whereabouts and process status of Band Aids manufactured in Brazil, sea bound to US for sterilization then truck bound to Canada DC. Greatly facilitated supply planning.

Worked directly with the Materials and Logistics Manager, Duties and responsibilities included:
