I have been given tasks such as revising and updating operating procedures, sponsoring and writing safety programs, designing and troubleshooting experimental tooling, writing procedural guidelines, performing audits in 6S and safety, participating in Job Safety Analysis program, cross training in other departments, and joining a scrap reduction team. At this time I am the current sponsor for the CPR-First Aid program as well as Fall Protection. I have obtained certification in First Aid/CPR-AED and OSHA as well as completing several management courses. Through the Safety Program I was selected by hourly employees as well as managers to represent the company in receiving a prestigious safety award presented by the Governor of the state of Kansas. I was also selected to advance from the production floor into a production management role, learning new aspects of product flow and the overall business structure. Since this advancement I have been entrusted to manage aspects of production planning and scheduling while performing my assigned duties as production supervisor. In the seven month vacancy of another production supervisory role I became responsible for managing the entire production floor. These duties included four additional production departments as well as more than doubling the amount of assigned subordinates.

Supervisory duties include but are not limited to; troubleshooting product and/or process issues, controlling product flow and production efficiency, staffing product lines assuring order completion, writing and presenting training sessions, evaluations, and if need be disciplinary action, correcting errors by adjusting production levels through data entry and material tracking software, assigning transactions to equipment as needed, and managing personalities creating a business atmosphere. I also assist in production control with a large focus on increasing efficiency of the twinning department and assisting engineering scheduling of TIM production. I currently oversee eighteen direct reports and have had as many as forty at one time which included six production departments.

Insulating operator duties and equipment are quite complex as they encompass wire draw, copper annealing, plastic extrusion (HDPE, LDPE, PVC, and FEP), winding, and many more aspects of daily operations. As I mastered this position I was cross trained in jacketing, twinning, filler, and cut stand in search of process improvement. I also performed audits in 6S and safety, review and update procedures as needed, troubleshooting machine performance and quality issues, as well as trained new hire or department transfers.
