Collaborated with four others on a 10 week long engineering design project to create a mechanical safety feature for chainsaws that completely halts the blade less than 0.5 seconds after proper cutting form is abandoned
Worked closely with end user group to clearly define needs, extensively researched existing chainsaw safety features and their limitations, prototyped, tested with target user group, and reiterated until complete
Of 15 groups, was recognized with The Phillip R. Jackson Engineering Sciences Prize for our outstanding performance
