Warehouse Associate

I am motivated and driven as a warehouse associate. I am a certified forklift and reach lift truck operator for Teamsters Local 639 and have been since 1999. I helped put in & take out trade shows in the Washington, D.C. area, loading and unloading tractor trailers, receiving and handling Air Mail, FED-X, UPS, taking the freight and packages to the proper exhibition booth, and checking for damages and missing freight at the Washington Convention Center and local area hotels. I was employed with Home Depot at their Alexandria, VA location as a Sales Associate. I would meet and greet the customers as they entered the store. I would provide excellent customer service by helping the customer select the right product for their project completion, cut ply wood and lumber using the stores commercial table saw or the panel saw, walk the customer over to where certain merchandise is located throughout the store, unload trucks of incoming merchandise and bring into the store using a forklift and placing overstock in their proper storage location, restock shelves, pulling and wrapping special orders, and help customers load purchases into their vehicles and help keep the store clean and safe. I also helped in our shipping/receiving department at The Home Depot. I would check in coming freight against the manifest, check for missing and damaged materials and take materials to the proper departments throughout the store and assist other departments as needed.
