CAL stands for Centralized Accounting Layer which is a part of the

application GGL (Global General Ledger). Its function is to capture,

process and feed data on a daily basis from Front Office, Risk Management,

Trading and Settlement systems into the GGL. It is an Interface application

that receives trading data from these systems, and then generates enriched,

normalized, validated and business logic accounting entries and posts them

to the Financial Detail Database in the form of Debits and Credits,

profit and loss statement generation, Balance sheet preparations and other

local regulatory reporting. It can be viewed as a gatekeeper for the GGL

(Global General Ledger). It is Receiving approximately 1000 different feeds

each day, transforms them into standardized business events, explodes those
