2013 Grammy Foundation Signature School, Enterprise Award Winner, Palacios H.S. Choir. Awarded a $5500.00 Grant for the award.

2013 Awarded a $4000.00 Grant from the Trull Foundation, Palacios, Texas

To help finance our musical production of "Joseph and the Amazing

Technicolor Dreamcoat".

2013 Awarded a $13,000 Grant from the Trull Foundation, Palacios, Texas

To purchase a 3 octave set of Malmark Handbells.

2008 Southwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association

Honor Choir. The Smithson Valley H.S. Broadway Ladies were selected to

perform at the ACDA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. They were one of 7

High School choirs selected to perform.

2004 Southwestern Division of American Choral Directors Association Honor

Choir. The Smithson Valley H.S. Broadway Ladies were selected to perform at

the convention in Little Rock, Arkansas. They were the only women’s choir

selected to perform at this convention. In addition, they were utilized as a

demonstration choir for world renowned composer, Stephen Hatfield. They

were showcased in his clinic on Multi-Cultural Choral Music.

2002 Texas Music Educator’s Association

Smithson Valley H.S. Mixed Choir was selected as the 4A Honor Choir

and performed at the 2002 TMEA All State Convention. They performed

In the same performance set as the Judson High School Women's Choir.

2000 Consistent UIL Choir Sweepstakes awards since 2000.

Since 2000, the Smithson Valley H.S. Choir Department earned 25

Sweepstakes Awards. Since coming to Palacios, The Palacios Choral

Department earned 4 Sweepstakes, 4 1st Division plaques in Sight Reading

and 1 1st Division plaques in Concert. After 1 year at Sweeny H.S., The Choir

received a Sweepstakes Award.

1991 – "Best in Class" at the following national festivals

1991 – Orlando Festival of Music, Women’s Choir & Mixed Choir

1995 – Winter Park, Colorado Music Festival, Mixed Choir, Women’s Choir &

Show Choir.

1997 – "Best in Festival" - Orlando Festival of Music, Women’s, Mixed and

Show Choir awards.

1998 – Winter Park, Colorado Music Festival, Women’s Choir, Mixed Choir and

Broadway Ladies.

2000 – Breckenridge, Colorado American Classic Music Festival, "Best in

Class" Women’s Choir.

2004 – Orlando Festival of Music, "Best in Class"Mixed Choir, Women’s Choir

and Show Choir.

2005 – Grand Champion Choir – Music Cruise Festivals. Overall winner and

highest ranked choir of over 50 Royal Caribbean Choir Cruise festivals.

Association, American Choral Director’s Association, Texas Music

Adjudicator’s Association. Frequent UIL judge and Clinician across the state of

Texas. In 2007 & 2008, clinician at the Texas Choral Director’s Association

Convention. In 2005, clinician at the Texas Music Educator’s Convention in

San Antonio, Texas. I presented a session on what the UIL judge is looking for

in the Sight-reading room.
