Design and detail parts/assemblies for automation machines for the
commercial/retail markets using Autodesk Inventor and Autocad.
Duties include modeling, calculations for component sizing and
power requirements, detailing with tolerances, GD&T, material
selection, exploded views, and assist in construction and evaluation
of prototypes. Develop manufacturing, assembly and quality
processes for commercial production. Work with vendors and

2006-2008 Product Development Manager/Engineering Manager – Gasser
Chair Co., Youngstown, Ohio (premier designer and manufacturer of
casino and hospitality furniture)
Responsible for the design, development and testing of custom seating for the gaming and hospitality industries. Directed a team of four product engineers, three draftsmen and a model builder to provide innovative, durable and comfortable seating designs and prototypes for customer approval and production builds. Also oversaw tooling engineering (molds, dies and fixtures), manufacturing engineering, maintenance and implemented a quality assurance department. Reduced design time by 45% through training and product innovation, improved design for manufacture and first
time through quality by 60%. Improved welding through-put by 25% and reduced scrap by 37% through robotics and automation. Implemented preventative maintenance program and provided
training to improve the effectiveness of in-house maintenance personnel thereby eliminating outside contractor maintenance.
1999-2006 Engineer & Engineering Manager - Blackhawk Automotive
Plastics, Ohio (a Tier I, Tier II automotive injection molded plastic
part/assembly supplier)
Hired as an engineer to design and implement processes and tooling
for a 60% growth in business, as plastics was the “new thing” in
automotive.
As Engineering Manager grew the engineering department to meet the company needs, eventually getting to 10 engineers.Directed10 Project and Tooling Engineers responsible for design, tooling, equipment and processes for new injection molded automotive trim and assemblies in an ISO registered plant. Also managed Estimating, Tooling and Maintenance Departments and worked with and developed outside vendors. Developed innovative product designs and processes, many of which were first in the industry. Key player in increasing sales to $100M + making Blackhawk a premier automotive supplier. Implemented preventative and predictive maintenance for over 200 machines and fixtures increasing uptime 30% and reducing maintenance costs by 15%.

Also have experience in injection mold design, procurement, troubleshooting and repair. I am experienced with single and multi cavity (up to 36 cavity) molds, various types of mold actions, insert molding, large and small clamp tonnages (1500 ton to 50 ton), various mold materials (P20, stainless steel, H13, S7,D2 and aluminum), cold sprue, hot sprue, hot runners, stack molds, horizontal molds and vertical shuttle molds. Capable of assisting molding techs in troubleshooting mold start ups and part quality issues. Implemented many robotic and part picker press side applications for demolding, degating, partial assembly and insert loading.
