In charge of Sales and Business Development in Magazines by cold calling potential clients, building relationships and achieving Targets.


After working in Press advertising for The Evening Times, The National, The Herald and The Sunday Herald I then moved into features. One Feature I done in The Sunday Herald Arts Magazine generated over 12 pages £9000 of revenue alongside an online feature which generated a futher £3500. This was the most advertising revenue that The Sunday Herald Arts Magazine ever achieved and I am proud to say I sold every ad in the feature, done all the artwork and page planning myself as well as the editorial.

I then moved to the Sales Development Manager Role in Magazines working on Family Focus Scotland, and Weekly Connect Magazines in several regional areas across Scotland.

We were targeted approximately 120 sales calls per day with a daily talk time of at least 2 hours. We had to average 4 sales per week to hit target. In Quarter 2 I won an award for my 118247 sales, selling more than anyone else in the department. I worked well in my team and worked overtime regularly to ensure achieving target. This was q quick turnaround sales job and I was also involved in projects such as charity days, training and supporting my team manager.
