Founder, Owner, HARDY SERVICES INC., Sarasota, FL – 1983 - 2007 Operated several profitable businesses started in the Sarasota area under the Hardy Services umbrella, including: LONGBOAT KEY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, INC. – 1986 - 2007 Property Management Service Company which grew to serve twenty-five Condominium Associations. Management services included: Assisting the Board of Directors with Association business including the maintenance, improvement and repair of common areas; soliciting bids for and overseeing construction/renovation projects; annual budget preparations; posting meeting notices; preparation and mailing of annual budget and election-related materials; collecting Association dues and assessments from unit owners, filing of liens when necessary; overseeing and processing all accounts payable; monthly financial statements; and managing employees of each Association.

Maintenance services included: weekly property inspections; overseeing employees and contractors; and providing services of a skilled handyman that was hired to replace outside vendors, saving both time and money, and assuring consistent quality of work.

LONGBOAT KEY MAINTENANCE, INC. – 1983 - 2007

Landscape and Irrigation Service Company providing expertise in landscape design, installation, and maintenance; tree trimming; and irrigation installation, inspections, and repairs. Provided services for over 200 clients, mainly commercial properties, Condo/Homeowner Associations and homeowners with landscapes worth $100K to $1M.

Built business from scratch to serving half the residents of Longboat Key. Never lost a customer.

Oversaw all operations including sales/marketing, scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, HR and staffing.

Recruited and retained 7 long-term Managers and 80-100 maintenance employees.

Earned dozens of beautification awards from the Town of LBK and the LBK Chamber of Commerce.

In 2007, sold Longboat Key Maintenance to ValleyCrest Cos.(the largest landscape services company nationally), and continued to manage the local-area business as their Branch Manager until 2009. In this role, continued to direct the full-time staff of 80-100 that served more than 200 property accounts. Personally sold all new contracts. Forecast and oversaw seven operating budgets for an annual revenue of

$4+ million. Successful in maintaining historical revenue and profitability during a rapidly declining economy. LONGBOAT KEY PEST CONTROL, INC. – 1994 - 2007.

Lawn/shrub fertilization and pest control, and interior pest control services with both residential and commercial clients. Successfully started and operated with one partner, rapid growth achieved despite strong competition from national companies in two counties. Longboat Key Pest Control was sold in 2007 to one such competitor.
