Administration Manager

Administration manager for a busy, private Occupational Health office. Various managerial tasks and Human Resource responsibilities are undertaken in this role including compiling reports/KPIs, compliance to each client’s H&S policies, staff appraisal and training & development opportunities, grievance and discipline, absence management, pensions and the managing of the daily running of a busy office.

I learned here how imperative it is that teams run smoothly together and appreciate the importance of each other's work for the business to run successfully.

I helped overcome major personality clashes between members of staff in both the same team and different teams.

I also learnt how important communication is in overcoming staff rumours and general unease during times of change, and how this affects the general atmosphere of the company and the work produced.

This was a 3 month temporary role.

Leasing Manager

Leasing & Marketing manager for a large, family owned, local company. Leasing villas and apartments is the company’s main business. This position included relocating services, leasing, general administration including producing reports and projections, organising marketing & events, and communication with colleagues and clients to secure new and keep current clients.

In this position I learnt how each client has very different and very specific needs that must be identified and fulfilled in order for them to feel confident in the property and the company they are to rent from. I found out that I am very good at communicating with very different types of people and asking the right questions in order to help find the perfect solution for them.

Reason for leaving: This was a temporary position whilst studying the CIPD qualification.

Operations Manager

As Operations Manager I oversaw the running of an office to ensure the smooth running of recruiters, admin and PRO. This also involved HR duties including overseeing the recruitment and induction of contractors, rewards/benefits, conflict management, absence management, immigration laws, compliance, training and development, client contact, Engineers placed in all areas of the O&G industry Onshore and Offshore and permanent staff office based.

I learnt the importance of communication between contractors, service providers, clients and management in the daily running of the business. Information is the key to knowing vital information required to professionally run the business and this information can be obtained through regular and effective communication with all involved.

Duties included:

Marketing & Business Development Manager

Marketing and Development Manager ensuring the optimum package for clients from various types of business from energy to banking & finance to education. Liaising directly with the clients or their media groups. Organising sponsorship, planning, coordinating, editing and overseeing the printing of the final product. Event management specific for each client including arranging venues, catering, presentations and publications. This role showed me my strengths in researching, meeting and communicating with many different types of people and how to work through each client's requirements to produce a high quality end product for them. It also showed me the importance of telling the truth and admitting your limits project wise to the client.

Reason for leaving: The owners returned to Lebanon due to family problems, closing the business.

Classroom teacher duties involved managing the learning & development of a group of very varied students both academically and emotionally. The role included lesson planning to include the various abilities and needs of each student. Classroom & behaviour management were integral to the ability for all students to learn to their optimum. Communication between the parents on specific areas for improvement for their child was also an important area for me.

This role showed me the importance of planning, risk assessing, and organisation skills in order for each child to gain from any lesson. It showed me how each one learnt differently and was inspired by different types of activities and appreciated different types of reward.
