CV Letter

For thirty-one years I worked in various aspects of Policing with West Midlands Police. Obtaining useful administration skills. My final posting as a Co- Ordination, Tasking and Planning Officer, saw these various transferrable skills that permeated both Public Sector and Commercial Information Data Systems, put to the test.

I have fraud investigation experience and the sufficient transferable skills and experience that employers look for. Spent 4yrs in Criminal Justice preparing case files for Crown Court & 6 years in the Crime Bureau initialising an operational response to reported criminal matters. The police helped me become a resilient, tenacious and hard working officer, equally effective working in a reactive or proactive manner, alone unsupervised or paradoxically, working within a team. I am a people person, a good listener, comfortable at communicating at any level; that helped with the public speaking too.

I was 20 years at the sharp end on 24/7 response becoming a Neighbourhood (Permanent Beat) Officer on a busy and dangerous inner city beat and documented in my book.

As a Planner I managed sporting events (WBA), VIP visits, Public Order turnouts, Industrial emergencies/disputes, civic events & unanticipated sporadic issues such as major crime scenes.

Key tasks as a Planner:

* Good communication and presentation skills

* Utilisation of Microsoft Office and IOS software packages in order to assign officers to various events within given time parameters

* Business Impact Analysis to ensure a continuous service to the public

* Creation of Business Continuity Plans (BCP's for 35 separate Departments)

* Gatekeeping of BCP documents still used live NOW by the current Divisional Management Team.

* Production & distribution of weekly Intelligence Newsletters.

My book, 'Voices from a Blue Box', published in 2010 by Authorhouse; based on the more humorous aspects of policing is available online at: www.bryanconnor.co.uk.

and good bookshops.

I'm about to begin the 5th year of a BA (Hons) History degree with the Open University and work as a voluntary assessor at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire.

I still feel that I have a lot to offer and would love to find a challenging post.
