Assisted 30 + asphalt plants and terminals in trouble shooting and project resolution of product issues.

Asphalt Research and Technical Consulting (ARTC) LLC – Cheyenne, WY (Jan. 2008-Feb 2009). -- Private Consultant – Hunt Refining Company – Coordinated and Managed a research and development program that would produce a rating system that not only would correlate crude oil formulations that yielded ideal asphalt for roofing products; but also for paving products.

Anton Paar USA, Inc – Ashland, VA.; Asphalt Application Engineer (Jan. 2008 – May 2008): Installed SmartPave Rheometers and Trained Customers to use the Rheometers in Asphalt related applications that included methods and standards developed and or adopted by ASTM, AASHTO and SuperPave (FHWA) protocols. Coordinated and Developed Asphalt Applications (Rheology) for existing and potential customers. Assist Software Engineering Team in customizing testing programs for customers. Coordinated Customer Satisfaction Programs for National Standards and Certification Programs. Served as onsite Asphalt Specialist for Customers.

Hunt Refining Company – Tuscaloosa, AL.; Asphalt Research and Technical Advisor (Dec. 2000 – Jan. 2008): Planned, Coordinated and Supervised Research and New Product Development in the field of asphalt for paving and roofing (residential and commercial) applications, which included polymer modification at the refinery and customers’ locations. Coordinated Quality Assurance and Control for all asphalt products (5 plants). Conducted specialized research for customers and assisted in implementing that research into production. Provided technical support to customers. Provided technical direction to laboratory and plant personnel (Hunt’s and customers’) in manufacturing new and existing asphalt products. Specialized in rheological and physio-chemical relationships of asphalt base materials.

Celotex Corp – St. Petersburg, FL.; Research Asphalt Chemist-Rheologist

(Feb. 1995 - Aug. 2000): Coordinated all the asphalt research for new products. Worked with marketing and sales team promote New Products for residential and commercial roofing applications - from conception to research and development to implementation of manufacturing to experimental application to internationally known -- industry labeling and finally product launching to the community. Specialized in modified asphalt products (SBS, SIS, crumb rubber, SBR, EVA, APP, IPP, SEBS). Planned, coordinated, and supervised research/technical support programs for laboratory personnel and plant personnel. Supervised experimental manufacturing production runs at various plant locations.

Western Research Institute – Laramie WY.; Research Scientist/ Rheologist

(Jan. 1989 – Feb. 1995): Research and Develop asphalt-base products for the pavement and roofing industry. Specialized in rheological - profiles of physio-chemical compositions of asphaltic materials (polymerized-SBS, crumb rubber, synthetic chemicals, asphalt- extenders, ground tire rubber (GTR)).

University of Wyoming (Astro-Physics Dept) – Laramie WY.; Data-Base Analyst (Oct. 1986 – Jan. 1989): Maintained a data-base developed to house information (which was obtained from mathematical computations that simulated advanced stages of Ozonic Phenomena in the atmosphere) from Ozone-Hole Balloon launches that were conducted at the South Pole.

United States Department of Interior - US Geological Survey: Water Resource Division – Cheyenne, WY.; Research Hydrologist/Co-op Student (May 1985 – Jan. 1989): Member of the research and development team that created mathematical and engineering computer models that were used for water resource applications which included surface water run-off, ground water monitoring and water quality. Worked with Corp of Engineers and FEMA – evaluating 50, 100, and 500 year floods.
