Held executive positions within all three entities to provide Balancing Authority operations and services, including five transmission dependent cities as well as over 10,000 MWs of generation and regional reserve pool management. These organizations have also specialized in regulation, implementation and Energy Management Systems service, as well as managing a large cross-section of Demand Response programs in CAISO, PJM, NYISO, NPCC, and ERCOT.
Accomplishments:
Launched Duke Energy Control Area Services (DECA) in 1999, a 24-hour, NERC certified control center operation, which was acquired and renamed Constellation Energy Control and Dispatch (CECD) in 2005.
Positioned GEM and Power Generation Services for acquisition by MSouth Equity partners in 2014, and led the sale and merger, overseeing a highly skilled, long-time staff while transitioning the former business unit structure.
Originated all contracts for GEM/CECD/DECA and was the primary advisor for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and services contracts for all of the associated clients, from municipalities to renewables providers, to merchant transmission and demand response organizations.
Led all three organizations to certify and control 57 Balancing Authorities and Transmission Operations hubs along with including the implementation and management of the world’s first wind-based Balancing Authority and 1400 MWs of the BPA/Iberdrola Customer Supplied Generation Imbalance (CSGI) program throughout the North American continent.

Managed the Houston Light and Power (HL&P) control center and transitioned the Houston assets into the ERCOT market while teaching the HL&P group to trade assets. Member of the first core integration team for the HL&P/Reliant integration of the Netherland utility acquisition (UNA) in Utrecht.
