6/2011 – 8/31/2013 Capgemini LLC - Mainframe Analyst/Tech Lead -- Consultant

Working with client Lowe’s in North Carolina on various releases of their online ordering systems. As Mainframe Analyst and Testing Lead, responsible for overseeing multiple systems and testing initiatives in QC.

Mainframe Analyst role included assisting offshore mainframe resources in setting up the job streams and trouble-shooting abends that offshore could not resolve.

Testing Lead role included meeting with business users to gather requirements, create test scenarios and validate with the technical lead/SME that the all scenarios were properly addressed.

Ran and validated the test scenarios in QC.

Analysis of and running of COBOL,VSAM,DB2, Javascript and HTML code and running BMC loads and unloads. Created reports and files in Easytrieve for business users use. Coding SQL queries for data mining and reporting.

Working on getting needed access for team. Conducted weekly/bi-weekly meetings with offshore team and attended weekly onshore meetings with client and onshore team.

Participating in QC testing meetings and provided updates on the testing initiatives that mainframe team is responsible for.

Worked with client GM in Detroit to create way to transmit data using CICS container processing to their individual dealerships in Mexico via web services. Developed 10 COBOL CICS wrapper programs to invoke existing COBOL CICS driver programs. Once data successfully placed in container(s), web services would process the containers. Created nix shell commands to access libraries on the mainframe directories and files necessary for this container processing. Participated in design meetings, daily status meetings. Participated in SOA and JAD sessions for system setup and design.

On GM and Coca-Cola projects, trained other team members, both onshore and offshore, in various mainframe tools and needed knowledge transfer. In GM, this required learning how to maneuver their workbench to access different environments, such as Endevor, Unix Shell, Output queues and more. For Coca-Cola, trained offshore and onshore resources in debugging Billing system issues which affected the Accounts Receivables system and knowledge transfer of Accounts Receivables system.

As the sole support person for Coca-Cola’s Accounts Receivables system responsibilities always included planning, design, unit testing, acceptance testing, signoff, implementation and maintenance.

Worked on conversion/migration of data from the mainframe to SAP, performed analysis, coding and testing of all COBOL, IMS, CICS, DB2 and PL/1 programs for Sales and Tax Use, Accounts Receivables and other smaller systems being sunset. Participated in weekly status meetings and met with business users as needed to give updates and review test data.

Worked as part of infrastructure team on Canadian project traveling weekly to Toronto and back. Performed project management duties such as gathering requirements, creating Visio diagrams, ensuring that resources were in place and more.

Primary Support of the USA Accounts Receivables (AR) Applications whose languages were COBOL, IMS, PL/1 and CICS. Secondary support for USA Billing and Reimbursement Systems whose languages were COBOL, IMS and DB2. Created and maintained programs for these mainframe systems for successful daily processing by the business analysts.

Team Lead for data conversion from mainframe to SAP, which involved gathering requirements, meeting with business users, talking to banking partners about how to handle ACH data, directing contractors and other team members in what needed to be done. Coded and tested needed COBOL modules.

VPN tunnel creation for sending vital data to be placed on microfiche thru outside vendor who could no longer accept tapes due to tape drive upgrade.
