My main duties as an autonomous practitioner were to assess, diagnose, problem solve, plan treatment program, and execute intervention and reassessment.
To communicate effectively with patients, carers and health care professional to maximize rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition
The intervention incorporated use of several therapeutic modalities (interferential therapy, TENS, laser, microwave diathermy, hydrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulator etc) and exercise therapy skills which are backed by adequate supportive evidence. The skills included muscle assessment, mobilisation of joints, manipulation, Muscle imbalance techniques, neurodynamics, stretching, relaxation, correction of posture, back and abdominal exercises, bed mobility, preparation for walking, crutch walking, limb girth & limb length, hand function, massage, therapeutic gymnasium, breathing exercises, aerobic exercises, propioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and coordination exercises.
