Process Engineer – Cutrale Citrus Juices USA 11/2015 - Present

Responsible for upholding Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs) in the production and storage of fresh and pasteurized orange juice.

Monitor areas of production and ensure specifications for quality assurance to maintain an aseptic environment.

Responsible for fulfilling and transporting batch shipments of various blends of orange juice via NFC pipeline to local Coca Cola facility in addition to tanker shipments throughout North America.

Supervise and carry out standard operating procedures with operators and contractors while complying with Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) in order to promote effective worksite-based safety and health practices.

Facilitate scheduled and troubleshooting maintenance on industrial equipment including pumps, motors, gear boxes, pasteurizers, heat exchangers, and pneumatic valves

PROJECTS:

Phase Change Material

Integrated phase changing material into construction based materials such as spray foam insulation and drywall to help cut energy costs used for heating and cooling in houses and buildings mainly focused in the Southeast region of the U.S.

To achieve the proper melting points needed for each region of focus, paraffin wax was fractionated using distillation columns to remove high carbon chain alkanes to reduce the melting point.

Suspension polymerization was used to microencapsulate the phase change material using a co-polymer as the shell.
