Responsible for the Supplier Surveillance (Tier 2 Suppliers = Ducommun, Sargent Aerospace, WESCO Intl., Cummins Aerospace, etc.) in support of the Bombardier/Boeing/Airbus/Goodrich Aerospace Structure Solutions, Landing Gear Assemblies and piece parts. The objective was to successfully work with Tier 2 suppliers to improve their current P.O. OTD% from approx. 50% to a minimum of 98% P.O. OTD. This was successfully accomplished by restructuring, realigning, training and refocusing their Supply Chain Personnel, Management, and Suppliers to support the customer demand.

Realigned the existing departmental resources which expanded the Planners “Line of Sight” for Customer Order Attainment reporting from 2 – 4 weeks. Result was an increase from 80% to 95% in Customer Purchase Order OTD performance.
Identified $2.1 million obsolete/slow moving inventory (previously customer consigned) that was purchased by MLA and was scheduled to be sold back to the applicable Customer.

Responsible for the management of Subcontracted (complex machined) Critical Path Assemblies (four suppliers) in support of the Sikorsky CH53K Program to ensure parts were manufactured, processed (including O.P.), and executed the accelerated delivery schedule from 12 to 8 weeks. The 4 week reduction in the suppliers quoted lead time = Program cost savings of 120K.

Directed the management of DDN’s Supply Chain personnel (2 Sr. Production/Material Planners, 3 Senior Buyers, 2 Inventory Control Analysts, and 5 Sr. Material Handlers) with no formal MRP system. For 18 (4.5 years) consecutive fiscal quarters this Team successfully supplied (“On Time/On Budget”) the purchased material required to achieve or exceed DDN’s mandated Quarterly revenue Goal. The Quarterly revenue goal was defined to support a 20% yearly increase in gross revenue (1996 = $80,000,000.00, 2011 = $200,000,000.00).
Introduced and implemented a yearly Purchasing cost savings program to reduce our appliance component pricing by 10%. 2011 purchased material equated to $90,000,000.00. Fiscal year end 2011, the Supply Chain Team achieved a yearly material savings of 12.00% on purchased parts, $10,800,000.00.
As the Supply Chain Project Manager successfully completed the transition of DDN’s Top Level Assemblies from a Tier 1 Contract Manufacturer in Northern California (Flextronics) to another Tier One Contract Manufacturer located in Guadalajara, Mexico (Sanmina).

Directed 10 employees in the Planning, Procurement, Scheduling, and Inventory Control activities within the SAP R/3 environment and implemented a Purchasing cost savings program to reduce purchased material costs by 20% ($8,000,000.00).
Designed and implemented a Cycle Counting Program to increase inventory record accuracy from 88% to 98%. Achieved a 98.3% accuracy, which successfully exempted Natrol from performing a fiscal year-end physical inventory. Result was a cost savings to Natrol of approx. $1,200,000.00.
