My enthusiasm as a mechanical engineer seeking for a full time position in your organization and apply my professional and interpersonal skills, which is conducive to learn and grow at professional as well as personal level thereby directing my future endeavors as an asset to the organization.
Educational Qualifications:
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Dec 2016
Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI Major GPA: 3.31/4.0
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering May 2014
Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management
Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, India Major GPA: 7.77/10
Technical Knowledge includes:
* Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
* Fundamental knowledge on testing automotive parts, use of LEAN methodology and also six phases of manufacturing processes.
* Proficient in DOE (Design of Experiments), fishbone diagrams and using Minitab.
* Automotive part design and modification using AutoCAD and CATIA V5.
* Thorough knowledge of material handling equipment systems and applications.
* Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Experience:
Hyundai Motors India Limited Jan 2014 to March 2014
Project Intern:
* A machine known as wheel nut runner for 4&5 nut mounting adjustment has been designed using AutoCAD and ANSYS, for assembling the sedan and SUV's in the same assembly line simultaneously.
* Reduced 30 seconds time in the production line and had implemented our design and concept in the plant-2.
* Experience with hands on testing of auto-components and learnt multitasking like data acquisition, analyzing, monitoring and documentation for the assembly systems. Academic
Projects:
National Go-kart Championship Formula SAE
* Our team Alphanoids designed a Formula style race car using SolidWorks with unconventional aluminum frame and careful structural analysis using Ansys software.
* Testing the car for its safety, manufacturing, durability and cost effectiveness are main criteria.
* It was custom fabricated in accordance with specifications laid by ISNEE rule book.
Design and Fabrication of a Catapult
Course Project: Western Michigan University
* The Catapult was designed in AutoCAD and analyzed its structural analysis.
* Tools learnt Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Bill Of Material (BOM), Product Design Specification (PDS), Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Design of Experiment (DOE) in order to achieve the final product.
Brakes Design for Collision Avoidance System
Course Project: Western Michigan University
* Controller area network (CAN) bus was introduced to replace the complexity of in-car wiring. With the use of CAN, point-to-point wiring is replaced by one serial bus connecting to all control systems.
* Using Kalman algorithm we can find out relative speed between the nearby vehicles and monitor it continuously. Ultrasonic sensors gives the warning signal to the driver to be cautious on applying brakes.
* ARM7TDMI micro processor with 32-bit data bus is used for carrying both instructions and data.
Factors that Affect the Fuel Economy of a Passenger Car
Course Project: Western Michigan University
* Investigated the factors that affect the fuel economy of a car by doing Design of Experiments and Regression Analysis.
* Hypothesis testing of several factors that have direct impact on fuel economy of a car have been investigated.
Turbulence Impact on CFD Predictions for Cooling of Electronic Components
Course Project: Western Michigan University
* Designed a new two-layer hybrid kε/kl turbulence model using CFD analysis to predict air cooling for electronic components.
* The model divides electronic components into two regions; Region A solves k-ε model of recirculating air; Region B solves k-l model of turbulent dissipation rate.
Skills and Abilities:
* Certification: Six Sigma Green Belt -Gained complete knowledge on DMAIIC process, Interpreting Charts, Root Cause Analysis, 80-20 Pareto Principle, Continuous Quality Improvement(Kaizen) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
* Design Skills: AutoCAD, PRO/E, CATIA-V5, ANSYS, Minitab and Matlab.
* Programming Skills: C, C++, SQL.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
* Extremely motivated to understand new job functions and learn quickly new concepts and apply them in evolving project.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
