WORK/RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Graduate Research Aide, Arizona State University Oct 2014 – Present Designed and performed research experiments in cross-linking of polymeric membrane incorporated with Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF), characterized through analytical methods for gas separation, catalysis, sensing and storage applications.
Developed research proposals/ideas for journal papers, lead groups of undergrads and grads in several projects dealing with chemical synthesis, material characterization and paper publications in the field of polymeric membranes and process technology
Synthesized Nano-structured highly porous electrospun/film casted membranes and analyzed them using SEM, FTIR, TGA, DSC, XRD, BET Surface Porosimetry Analysis for film composition, gas selectivity, structural deformity and dispersity properties.
Designed and Fabricated a ‘Ultrasound-Assisted Chemical Synthesizer’ for achieving selective permeation/filtration by quicker and efficient reduction of particle size, including the generation of processes related SOPs based on standard GLPs. Research Aide, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University May 2013 – May 2014 Conducted widespread research in Heat & Mass Transfer, Material Sciences and Environmental Science by recycling various kinds of polymers focusing on Engineered Solutions, Process Improvement and Sustainability.
Plastic Recycling by Selective Dissolution & Precipitation Methods – Recycling plastics (LDPE, HDPE, PS) using organic solvents and anti-solvents based on their solubility parameters. Involved in Designing of experiments and process intensification
Studied the lubricant tribological behavior using Twist Compression Tester, 4 Ball Testing and Block on Ring methods to account for the variable factors affecting the Friction, Wear and Tear properties in Metalworking Equipment. Student Intern, Reliance Industries Limited Dec 2012 – Jan 2013 Developed extensive knowledge about Oil & Shale Gas Industry, Off-shore Gas Drilling process through multiple equipment like deep water manifolds, high pressure devices and distillation units.
Worked on a project describing the Transport process in relation with the Gas Exploration and Extraction of Shale gas from the offshore to an Oil Refinery through simulations in ASPEN HYSYS analyzing the fluid mechanics. PAPER PUBLICATIONS:
