Lab equipment: wind tunnel, tensile tester, sharpie tester, electron microscope, Rockwell hardness tester, solar panel, wind turbine, propane power plant, heat exchanger setup, pump station, oscilloscope, multimeter, breadboard, 3D printer, CNC mill, analog mill, lathe, brake, metal saw, drill press, ventilation hood, grinder, calipers and micrometer.
Senior design capstone: Demonstration 5 speed manual transmission
I worked as the lead engineer with two mechanical engineering students to design and prototype an oversized gearbox that was to be used as an educational tool. This project was completed on time (thirty-two weeks) and under our $500 budget. Most parts were designed and either 3D printed or machined from scrap metal. This project required us to develop failure mode analyses and to design and conduct experiments to meet this requirement.
Designed gears, dog clutches and shafts in Creo Parametric
Built parts using 3D printer, CNC mill, lathe and manual mill
Won second place at 2016 ASEE conference for Best Student Paper
Proficient in ANSYS, C++, Creo Parametric, Assembly language, MatLab and G & M code for HAAS mill and lathe
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE Exam)
Self-studied vehicle dynamics
Member of ASME
