Oversite of the PN and RN programs in all states by giving support, guidance, and recommendations to each campus. The primary goal is to assist the campuses maintain and/or improve the program outcomes and continue the quality student experience. Work with 21 programs over eight states to meet compliance and accreditation standards from Boards of Nursing and all accreditors, assist with curriculum recommendations and changes, completing program assessment, and participating in interviewing and hiring new nursing program administrators. Organized & developed a weekly Nursing Best Practice call between all the nursing program leaders.

MEDTECH COLLEGE, Indianapolis, IN

Regional Vice President of Nursing Feb.2014 – Nov. 2015

Giving direction to the nursing programs for the Midwest region. This includes three campuses in Indiana and one campus in Orlando, FL. Hired to restructure and make improvements to the RN and PN programs that are having problems meeting standards and outcomes. In April 2014 implemented new policies and procedures consistent at all campuses. Lead faculty development in areas of test item writing and analysis, implementing a test blueprint, and active learning in the classroom. The July and Oct. 2014 graduates at all campuses showed an increase in NCLEX pass rates. All PN 2015 pass rates are now above standard & all programs are returned to full accreditation.

HARRISON COLLEGE, Indianapolis, IN Jan. 2008 – Feb. 2014

National Dean for Nursing & School of Health Science Jan. 2011- Feb. 2014

Promoted to National Dean to oversee all health science programs. Position includes program assessment and curriculum revision. Collaborating with Campus Presidents, Deans, and faculty to ensure accreditation standards are met. Function as a community and stakeholder liaison. Assisted with the preparation and visit with CCNE accreditation for RN-BSN program. The on-line RN-BSN program received initial CCNE accreditation. During my appointment at Harrison College the RN program NCLEX pass rates were 2011 – 97%, 2012 – 100%, 2013 – 100%.

Administrative Dean of Nursing Aug. 2009 – Jan. 2011

Promoted to Administrative Dean of Nursing, responsible for the oversight of the nursing programs regarding development and implementation of new programs. Position includes consulting with Campus Presidents and Deans of Nursing at the campus level, and assisting with accreditation from all areas. Assisted the ASN Program at Indy-East through accreditation visit to receive full accreditation status from the ISBN in November 2009, Lead the implementation of the RN program at Harrison College Ft. Wayne Campus with approval of initial accreditation from the ISBN in June 2010, and lead the preparation for NLNAC (now ACEN) initial accreditation visit in Oct. 2010 where the Indy-East campus RN program received initial accreditation. Lead the development and approval of an on-line RN-BSN program.

Dean of Nursing Education Jan. 2008 – Aug. 2009

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a full-time Associate Degree Registered Nurse program at the Indianapolis-East campus. Responsibilities include orienting and supervising full-time & adjunct faculty. Coordinating clinical rotation placement for students. Overseeing curriculum development, and the systematic evaluation plan. This was a brand new program that enrolled their first cohort the quarter before I began my appointment. Therefore, focused on hiring faculty and faculty development as program censes increased, and marketing the program throughout the community.

CONCORDE CAREER COLLEGE, Jan. 2006 – Jan. – 2008

Program Director-Practical Nursing & Assoc. Degree RN Kansas City, MO

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a full-time & part-time practical nursing program. Responsibilities include supervising eight full-time and five adjunct faculty. Also responsible for teaching didactic for small course load, coordination clinical sites, advising students, coordinating the program advisory committee, participating in graduation, and planning and participation in all nursing pinning ceremonies. Duties include assuring compliance of Missouri Board of Nursing education regulations. Assisted in the development of an Associate Degree Registered Nursing program, with the first class scheduled to begin Nov. 12, 2007. In the time that I have transferred to the Kansas City campus I have implemented; a formal retention plan, a formal tutoring plan, and student satisfaction surveys have increased by 57%.

Responsible for the development and implementation of a Practical Nursing program. Received developmental approval from the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Developed facilities, establishing affiliation agreements, recruiting and training faculty. First PN class began April 30, 2007.

PUBLIC SERVICE

I have served as a member of the Indiana State Board of Nursing since 2011. This is a governor appointed, volunteer position. In 2014 I served as Vice President and I am currently serving in the role of President of the Indiana State Board of Nursing.

While in Oregon I served on Oregon State Board of Nursing task force 21: This task force is charged with reviewing and, as necessary, recommending revisions to Division 21 (Standards for the Approval of Educational Programs in Nursing Preparing Candidates for Licensure as Practical or Registered Nurses) of the Nurse Practice Act.

While in Oregon I served on Oregon’s Center for Nursing LPN task force: This task force is charged with two goals; to increase the number of LPN’s in the state of Oregon, and to extend the number of LPN’s across all clinical settings.
