SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Stepped-in to successfully revitalize $12M textile manufacturer. PwC client was struggling due to increased
competition and cash flow issues. Accepted short-term management advisory project to review financial and cost
structures. Made aggressive set of recommendations to improve profitability.
Reduced audit practice operating expenses by 25%. Led effort to reduce practice overhead through attrition,
headcount reduction and other measures. Cut direct costs 25% over two years, significantly improving profitability.
Led Audit Quality Improvement initiative. Led local initiative to install/upgrade quality standards in the shortest
possible time. Review by PwC international team confirmed that Zimbabwe practice was compliant with stringent
quality requirements.
Developed winning bid for $1M in new annual business. Led team in understanding operations, business and
corporate expectations before meeting top executives & submitting proposals. Billings grew close to $1M over time.
Key player in PwCs work during complex Zimbabwe demonetization. Government of Zimbabwe was forced by
economic conditions to introduce a multi-currency system. Served on the Executive Team that developed new
internal systems and processes to manage support and client issues. Transition to US$ went smoothly.
Prepared inflation-adjusted financial statements during period of hyperinflation. Zimbabwe economy went
through years of runaway inflation. Took the lead role in preparing complex inflation-adjusted financial statements
for a variety of corporate clients. Ensured full compliance in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
CAREER HISTORY
PricewaterhouseCoopers Zimbabwe - Partner & Assurance Leader, 1999-2015. Managed six Partners, three
Associate Directors and 140+ staff for Zimbabwe and Malawi. Served as Risk Management Partner with additional
responsibilities for Audit Methodology and Quality Assurance. Up until 2007, held the responsibility for the Human
Resources function in the Zimbabwe office. From 2007 2012, accountable for overseeing the performance and
management of the Tax Department. Additional responsibilities included management of the Learning and
Development Department and Global Deployment coordination. Active in 2016 as a Senior Auditing Consultant.
Earlier: For PwC Zimbabwe, served as Director, 1997-1999, Audit Manager, 1996-1997 and Assistant Audit
Manager, 1994-1996. Promoted to Associate in 1991 after starting career with PwC as an Intern in 1989.
PERSONAL: Married, with two children. Lead an active lifestyle and enjoy family and social activities and playing
golf.
