I am a contracting power plant professional with over 23 years of power plant industry experience. I started my career in the United States Navy as an Engine Room Operator and have since held titles of Operating Engineer, Auxiliary Operator, Control Room Operator, Mechanical Supervisor, and PTW/LOTO Coordinator. I have experience working directly with major corporations such as General Electric and Calpine Corporation, Gama Power systems, Metka Power Projects, Turner Construction, SWES. I have operated and services many large industrial units including GE LM/TM2500, LM600, GE Frame 6B, GE 7FA, and GE 9fa, 9fb, Siemens V84 GTG, combined with various Steam Turbine Generators in a combined cycle and in a cogeneration setting. I am also qualified to work from the control room. As part of the commissioning group (mechanical and operations), we assist the TA (technical advisor) with erection, oil flushing, pressurizing the generator with air, CO2 air and hydrogen. I operated from the Control Room and also spearheaded the OJT training for auxiliary operations for plant turnover. Equipment consisted of four coal feeders, switchgear 4160/480 compressors, cyclone separator, stripper cooler, fly-ash hopper, bag-house primary and secondary air fans, induced draft fan. Boiler consisted of steam drum, primary super-heater, convection stage, finishing super heater, steam attemporation valves, soot blowers, boiler feed pumps were electric-driven.
