To whom may concern:

I am a research associate and working in the Tissue Repair and Regenerative Surgery Laboratory, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Wound management, wound covering, wound healing and hypertrophic scarring research are my involved fields. I have deep background in both research and clinic of Burn & Plastic Surgery. I would like to apply for a research position in the fields of wound healing, hypertrophic scarring, tissue engineering etc.

I got MD degree in Shandong University School of Medicine in Shandong, China in 1989. Then I studied for a master’s degree in Fudan University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China in 1992, and PhD degree in Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China in 1997. I engaged myself in the mechanism study of the intermingled grafting of large sheet of allografts with small autogenic skin islets, and the development of temporary and permanent wound coverings such as acellular dermal matrix and fibroin membrane and their clinical application.

From 1989-2002, I devoted myself to Burns clinic and research, especially the latter, and obtained plenty of professional experiences, as shown in my CV. As the director of skin bank in Shanghai Institute of Burn, I was also responsible for the preparation and storage of allograft and xenograft (pig) skin for clinic.

Since April 1,2002, I have been a research associate in the Tissue Repair and Regenerative Surgery Laboratory in Northwestern University. I have been participating in many projects from NIH,industry and Department of Defense with some publications as shown in my CV, and much more unpublished results. With surgical skill, I have involved the development of many animal models using mice, rats, rabbits and swine. These models are widely used in the research of wound healing and hypertrophic scarring. I have involved in experiment design, animal protocol writing, and carried out many animal protocols.

Enclosed is my resume describing the details of my experience for your review. I hope I can get a chance to work with you and I have ample confidence in my ability to make contribution to your research and clinical endeavors.

I would very much appreciate it if you could offer me a position with the financial support. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Your early reply would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes.
