April 2003- July 2005. PDVSA Petroleos de Venezuela S.A., Miranda- Venezuela. Research in Catalysis:
-I worked in a R & D project preparing catalysts cobalt supported on silica for Gas to liquids tecnologies. Preparation of catalytic support based on silica by emulsions methods and supported metallic catalysts by the impregnation and precipitation methods.
- Preparation of manganese complexes employing bidentate amine lingand by the precipitation method for the selective oxidation, in liquid phase, of hydrocarbons and streams employed in diesel fuels formulations.
- Catalysts evaluation to bench and laboratory scale in the Synthesis Fischer-Tropsch and Selective oxidation reactions following the activities and selectivities of catalysts by GC.

-Physicochemical characterization of fuels using ASTM methods: density, viscosity, destillation, gums, corrosión, pour point, flash point and others by the Quality Standard ISO-17025.

-Responsible for quality testing methodologies of fuels: Density and Vapor Pressure. Study of uncertainty of both methodologies for validation. Participation in internal and external audits of both methodologies.
-Participation in interlaboratory tests for gasolines.
-Compative study of the effect of gasoline-oxygenated (ethanol or MTBE) blends on the properties of SBR, NBR and FKM elastomeric materials, using the standard SAE J-200.
-Synthesis of oxygenated compounds starting from glycerol and acetone, using Amberlyst-35 as a heterogeneuos catalyst, in a batch scale.
-Preparation of silica supported zirconia catalysts for synthesis of diethyl carbonate, new oxygenated compound used in gasoline, starting from Bioethanol and CO2 in a batch reactor.
