ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATION, I am working now for these locksmith companies in the accounting and tax area as well as administrative assistant to the owners. The owners have given me the responsibility to care for the company’s cash flow analysis, the monthly closings and budgeting. In addition, I care for the inventory control and the annual tax preparation. Also, I am taking care of the field technicians’ training needs as well as the required attire and courtesy manners to treat the variety of customers we encounter in the locksmith field.

Conversely, feedback from customers and continuous improvement has become one of the activities the owners have requested me to set as important plan to fulfill customers’ satisfaction. Saltillo, Mèxico 4/08 to 5/10

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, responsible for all financial aspects of two factories located one in Saltillo and one in Hermosillo, Mèxico; including financial reporting, cash flow management, cost accounting, oversee the annual audits for HQ and for the Mexican Tax Office. Also, in charge of the inventory control, budgeting, fixed assets, company taxes, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.

Accomplishments:

Implemented cost reduction plans that allowed the company to cut cost and expenses for $60,000 a month in the production area.

Reduce headcount by 25% in the accounting department.

Instrumental in the implementation to obtain an immediate credit on all the purchases of raw materials purchased in Mexico. This means a cash recovery of $325,000 a month or about $3,900,000 dollars a year of pure cash kept at the HQ office for the company’s cash flow needs.

Instrumental in the reduction of the company’s prepaid monthly tax, from $120,000 to zero-dollar payment from Sept/08 to Dec/08. This was due to the anticipation to the upcoming trouble with the excess of inventory at the different car maker customers.

Instrumental in the recovery of $670,000 of past due balance with one of the customers.

Instrumental in the work plan set to catch up with the vendors’ past due payments.

Training for two of the accounting employees to excel in their day-to-day activities.

Assist the CFO to clearly identify the budget targets and make them happen as stated in each of the factories.

Reduce audit fees by 15% for FY2008.

Instrumental in the audit closing of FY2007. Also, in my analysis I identified miscalculations on the annual depreciation expense by more the $500,000 dollars in the financials for the US books.

McAllen, Texas

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, responsible for all financial aspects of two companies, one in McAllen and one in Reynosa, México, including financial reporting, cash management, cost accounting, oversee the annual audits for HQ and for IRS, inventory control, budgeting, risk management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. I am also responsible for the Mexican Customs Importation/Exportation activities and the Information Technology Department.

Accomplishments:

Instrumental in the implementation of a cash management system. As a result, with this action the company was able to pay a loan of $900,000 and have a surplus cash of $1,600,000 at the end of Mar/04.

Able to set a plan to terminate the Mexican Operation in 2005 at the lowest and efficient manner that allowed the company to return the equipment to China at no extra cost with the Mexican Customs.

Able to set a plan to assemble and inspect products from the McAllen, Texas facility 2005-2006.

Instrumental to maintain a reduced production in USA at low cost with acceptable profit margins.

Instrumental in the plan to shut down the USA operation and transfer the remaining funds to Hong Kong.

Implement a cost reduction plan that allowed the company to cut cost and expenses on the amount of $75,000 a month after October 2003.

Recovered Mexican Taxes for $600,000 in the first half of fiscal year 2004.

Solve a problem of Mexican Customs Duties assessed on the amount of $500,000. The result was a favorable decision that cost the company a sum of $0 dollars.

Instrumental in the restructure of the Personnel and Accounting Departments, allowing the company to save $10,000 a month on administrative salaries.

Instrumental in the reduction of monthly inventories from $6,000,000 a month to $2,200,000 in a period of six months.

Work with the Mexican Auditors to reduce the monthly pre-paid company taxes from $15,000 a month to $1,000 from May 2004 to December 2004.

I am also responsible for all US and Mexican Customs matters, HR and warehouse activities.

Accomplishments:

Implementation of a permanent cost reduction plan that saved the company approximately $750,000 over a 3-year period.

Instrumental in working with a US Customs to obtain importation duties refund of $200,000 for the fiscal year ended in March 2000.

Instrumental in the implementation of cash management system.

Instrumental in the coordination to set one sole maintenance department for the three-building operation in Juárez.

Reduce headcount by 5 through automation and consolidation. The reduction was done in both Juarez and El Paso locations.

Accomplishments:

Negotiated with Mexican tax authorities a monthly tax reduction based on prior year losses.

Submit to top management a strategic plan to turn huge losses into 10% profit operation for Magnets Division. The result was a profit margin of 17% in 1992 and 1993.

Instrumental in the proposal submitted to US Customs to exempt TDK of importation duties for the period of Oct/92 to Dec/93. A favorable resolution resulted in a refund and exemption of $1,200,000.

ACCOUNTING MANAGER, responsible for all financial aspects of the company in Juarez, Mexico including financial reporting, cash management, departmental costing, risk management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Functions included financial reporting, cash management, customs and cost accounting. At the beginning tax matters were my number one responsibilities due to the need to implement accounting policies in accordance with the Mexican accounting common practices. TDK strongly enforced Japanese accounting policies that totally differed from Mexico, especially on corporate tax. This process saved the company over $90,000 on fines and penalties.
