I monitored the amount of base oil/additives that flowed into the blending tank using the flow-meter and valves ensuring only specified quantities gained entry. I monitored and ensured the right quantity, in litres, of blend in the tank using the tank scale attached onto its side. I decoded and interpreted the individual blending materials and specifications requisite for blending of a particular lube. I read test results of initial lube samples and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment control and blending materials required to produce specified quantities and quality of final lubes. I used and supervised the use of the electric pulley to determine weights of empty, half-full and full drums and in addition carried out decanting of drum contents into the kettle, connected to the blending tank, for lube blending. Laboratory Assistant

I determined flash points of lube samples and compared results with standard readings to determine quality of lubes using test cup, flash point test equipment and the lube sample. I carried out Total Base Number test to determine the quantity of HClO4 required to neutralize all basic constituents present in 1g of a lube sample using the titrating solvent, an indicator, a burette and a 200ml Erlenmeyer flask. I carried out Specific Gravity test to determine specific gravity of lube samples using hydrometer and made appropriate conversions using the industry approved conversion table. I carried out Kinematic Viscosity tests at 40degrees and 100degrees centigrade respectively to determine viscosity of lube sample using viscometer tubes, tube holders, thermometer, stop-watch and viscometer bath.
