While at Applied I have worked as a Customer Service Representative where I took inbound call and made outbound return calls to assist customers with issues they had with the software system developed by Applied. In this position I also assisted with setup of new client systems, aiding transfers to an online environment, and documentation used by internal associates and external clients on procedures of correcting known issues.
I transferred to the Technology Department as a Quality Analyst in 2009. There I worked with testing and writing test cases, in the development phase of the software, working to insure that problems that are found are corrected and working properly and procedures for testing follow design specifications of how it is supposed to work.
In 2013 I became a Scrum Master. Applied uses the Agile process of development, where people with varying expertise (usually comprised of developers, quality analysts, and product management personnel) come together as a development team. Some of the ongoing responsibilities in my role as a Scrum Master for the team I’m on are: (1) to facilitate discussion and conflict resolution within the team; (2) enable close cooperation across all roles and functions within the team; (3) organize meetings, reviews, and retrospectives; (4) keep the team focused on the current task; (5) participate in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices; (6) seek ways to improve processes; (7) collaborate with product owners, other scrum masters, team members and management to determine appropriate solutions; (8) manage work processes and projects through individual contributors and/or teams; (9) build and manage on-going relationships with internal and/or external customers in order to collaborate with the customer to identify needs and develop solutions. The position of Scrum Master is basically a manager of the process using skills and various styles of management to insure that the team works together to deliver the projects they work on in an effective, timely, and proficient manner.
