Academic Projects & Achievements

Design and Analysis of a Hydraulic Pump Jack

Using Creo, designed a pump jack, utilised kinematic approach to analyse, identify the critical variables and enhanced its efficiency by adjusting counter weight.

Gained an increase in efficiency by 3% with the optimum counter weight which also reduced the electricity consumption for the motor torque.

Modal Analysis of Chassis for an All-Terrain Vehicle (SAE BAJA) Project, Senior Team Member

Constructed chassis geometry from an engineering drawing using CATIA V5 software as per SAE design requirements.

Used ANSYS Workbench for performing Normal Mode Analysis.

Acquired understanding in using CAE tools to identify the locations with critical stresses and resolved NVH issues by adding chassis mounts.

Prepared vehicle DFMEA and DVP&R.

Harmonic Analysis of Multi-storey Building

Designed a 15 storey building and performed vibrational analysis under various wind loads using ANSYS.

Design of a solar water desalination system

Developed a design for desalination system, computed the results analytically and validated with numerical approach to improve design efficiency. Achieved maximum efficiency by identifying the least possible area of parabolic collector.

Design and Vibrational Analysis of Car Suspension System

Designed a model of a suspension system of a car using SolidWorks within appropriate standards.

Developed a Simulink model and performed vibrational analysis to come up with an optimized design using Genetic Algorithm (GA).

Computational Modelling of Natural Convection for a Concentric Cylinder

Simulated the heat transfer phenomenon in a concentric cylinder in two dimensional by FLUENT.

Post processed the temperature distribution, fluid velocity field and heat balance results to calculate the Nusselt number and compared it with the analytical solution.

Dynamic Modelling and Control of Magnetic Suspension System

Developed and designed a controller for a magnetic suspension system using transform techniques, state-space methods and optimal control.

Performed simulations and calculations using MATLAB/Simulink.

Finite Element Analysis and Design of a Plate with hole

Modelled one quarter of the symmetric plate with centrally located hole subjected to uniaxial tension using ABAQUS.

Analyzed the cases of unstructured, structured and non-uniform meshes.

Compared the analysis results to the one obtained by hand calculated elasticity solution.
