SENIOR DISASTER RECOVERY ENGINEER, 2007 – 2011, 2013 – 2016

Developed and operated the disaster recovery and business continuity solutions encompassing the technical infrastructure of the College Board. Lead in the design, construction and operation of four data centers in diverse geographic locations with multiple colocation providers.

Designed and operated a remote disaster recovery data center containing necessary components to reconstitute College Board’s technical infrastructure to meet stated Recovery Time Objectives (RRO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

Developed, maintained and exercised a business resumption plan for the Technical Operations group focused on the restoration of the College Board’s critical technical infrastructure.

Disaster recovery / business continuity (DR/BC) subject matter expert (SME) advising internal business units on DR/BC efforts and reviewing contracts and proposals to ensure the viability acquired products and services.

Established redundant telecom / data communication links between all data centers, College Board regional offices and key external vendors to ensure College Board’s ability to deliver their products and services.

Developed and oversaw DR/BC budget within the Engineering and Operation division of the College Board.

Led a team that identified and evaluated new colocation hosting providers necessary to upgrade College Board’s data centers and functioned as an advisor in the contract development and approval process.

Oversaw the team that designed and built out the physical data center spaces, design and construction elements included power, cooling, cabinet layouts, structured cabling, telecom circuits and technical asset placement.

Planned and executed a major data center move of College Board’s production, test, and development environments within the approved move windows with no equipment damage.

DIRECTOR, PRODUCTION SERVICES, 2011- 2013

Directed all batch and data movement functions related to student and organizational data connected to the SAT, PSAT and AP assessment tools life cycle from test registration to score reporting. Lead the Production Control Team consisting of five full time employees.

Led the planning and execution of activities necessary to ensure the successful delivery of enterprise batch data operations through the oversight and management of the Production Control staff.

Worked directly with business unit leads to understand the business needs and to define activities related to all aspects of production support, including delivery, notification, escalation, and the development of discrete customer reporting related to issue resolution, or to the provisioning of infrastructure services.

Oversaw and maintained DR/BC recovery solutions and all related colocation facilities.

Managed services delivery against established service level agreements to ensure critical deadlines were met.
