SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER, BUSINESS OPERATIONS (Current)

Central Bag & Burlap Co., Denver CO, (a premier MM distributor of custom FDA and pharmaceutical packaging products).

Leads CI initiatives within the product development, sales and marketing teams to develop products and customer solutions. Develops and maintains strategic relationships, negotiates business terms, and coordinates with legal counsel to execute contracts and proposals. Develops business case analysis into C-level presentations, and proposals to gain favorable deals, partners and new market channels; including incremental revenue and supply chain resource requirements.

Qualified Achievements:

Provided monthly analysis of business performance results to Executive Board and CEO, to include sales growth, margin development, budgeting and overhead performance, marketing strategy, detailed operations, accounting and payroll.

Led marketing strategies, designed line-cards that resulted in an 11% sales increase, and a 3% margin improvement.

Developed new best practices to improve cash flow, resulting in a 44% improvement in aging receivables.

VICE PRESIDENT, LOGISTICS & PLANNING – Supply Chain Planning and Optimization (03/2013 – 12/2015)

Kärcher North America, Denver CO ($3B manufacturer of commercial and industrial cleaning equipment, operating four manufacturing and two distribution plants in North America).

Led Kärcher’s North American logistics operations which included demand planning, supplier procurement, inventory control, physical distribution, with a $128MM budget and a supply chain group of 6 Directors and 135 staff to support manufacturing, engineering and the global supply chain network of a $500MM North American division.

Significant contributions include the development of a logistics strategy that led to a $18MM reduction in inventory; a $1.8MM reduction in logistics costs, establishment of 2 regional DC’s (730,000 sq ft), and a 20% improvement in manufacturing space.

Qualified Achievements:

A 35% Reduction of Inventory. Mandated and drove monthly Sales & Operations Planning process reducing excess buying and poor vendor agreements improving forecast reliability 17.3%, and reduced inventory by 44% ($18M).

Implemented a North American Cycle Count process that eliminated annual physical inventories, reduced obsolete inventory saving $5MM in operational costs and lost sales.

Lean OEM Parts Management. Led project to identify and relocate 8600 parts and secondary value added services out of 2 manufacturing facilities turning 1,800 sq ft of storage space over to production; and reduced air freight costs 18%.

A 20% Reduction in Freight and Logistics Costs. Renegotiated regional carrier contracts and redrew critical carrier lanes in the US that drove a cumulative 27% reduction in logistics costs. In 2015 contracted a new TMS solution reducing air-freight costs by $520,000 and annual reductions of $180k in contract freight billing.

A Successful SAP Merger. 2013 - Directed a Logistics Team effort in a SAP merger to meet corporate manufacturing, operations and logistics objectives with integration to a WMS/WM distribution platform project.

Implementation of APO. Led a Project Team through installation of an advanced planning and operations solution (APO) resulting a forecast reliability improvement of 14%, and a 28 day improvement in ocean transit lead times.

Opened a new Central Distribution Center. Developed a project team and project plans for a new 600,000 sq ft DC in the US south-east. Included the closure and relocation of a 150,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and staff and the relocation of $24M in raw and finished goods inventory.

Opened a new NY/NJ Regional DC. Led the project management, design and planning of a 135,000 sq ft. regional DC. Required the coordinated closure of a 70,000 sq ft warehouse and the relocation of a $6MM inventory -saved $500,000.

REGIONAL DIRECTOR LOGISTICS - Supply Chain & Distribution, (03/2005 -- 09/2012)

Sonepar USA, Monroe Township, NJ. ($3.4B 4-State regional electrical and solar technology products distributor).

Developed and led supply chain and logistics strategies to support a $680MM distribution region. Led a 4 State region of 6 DC’s, 8 Operations/Plant Managers, 240 staff with a $37MM operational budget, a $28MM inventory, and 4 regional delivery fleets. Implemented significant performance improvements in order management delivery, and inventory accuracy. Managed and negotiated facility, maintenance, service, vendor, fleet and union driver contracts.

Matched the strategic growth of the region with a highly integrated and reliable logistical-supply chain that supported a 59% growth in sales ($280M to $680M) with building or expansion of 5 Distribution Centers and 3 fleets in 7 years.

Led strategic project of a DC relocation to a 300,000 sf. site increasing capacity 60% and relocating $22M in component and finished goods inventory while absorbing the operations and closing a 100,000 sq. ft. DC.

Developed a manufactured assembly production line for commercial solar panel kits. Developed master planning and scheduling requirements to produce fully assembled finished goods inventory kits increasing sales 17% in three years.

Deployed lean continuous improvement processes improving inventory availability, reduced vendor lead-time by 5 days and increasing on-time delivery from 89.7% to 98.4% by 2012.

Created and deployed corporate supplier performance measurements that improved procurement cycle time, product availability, buyer controls, and introduced RF barcode tools that reduced inventory shrink $2MM over 5 years.
