Senior Project Manger(PM)/Coordinator - Fiber Optic Subject Matter Expert
Assistant Project Manager for the installation of the Steering Control
upgrades on the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). To include all portions of
the fiber optic cable plant (blown optic fiber and conventional). Onsite
Project Manager for the ADMACS, Block 2, Phase 1 installation onboard the
USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77). During this installation had a crew of
approximately 60 people working (structural, electrical and cosmetics)
under him. Had to track a budget of approximately $2.3M to include labor
hours and materials. Was the acting onsite foreman for fiber installations
on USS Carter Hall (LSD -50) CANES installations, and USS Dwight D.
Eisenhower (CVN 69) IFLOLS Phase IV. Installation to include associated
blown fiber installations.
Provides onsite training and initial supervision of Installation teams
onboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during an availability in San Diego, CA.
Responsible for the development and implementation of fiber optic
installation program to include training and qualification of technicians,
supervision of all installation teams to include testing and QA of
installed systems. Wrote and developed the company's in-house fiber optic
training program. Collaborated along with other DOD contractors in writing
the Fiber Optic Training course for American Maritime Modernization
Association (AMMA); to facilitate a stronger understanding and certificate
program within the US Navy.

Responsible for the development and implementation of a fiber optic
curriculum. Conduct fiber optic training of all L-3 Unidyne technicians
in various programs. To update company Technical Work Procedures (TWP),
qualifications and Quality Assurance (QA) programs. Assist in writing TWP,
Cable matrix and travelers; coordinate the shipping of materials and
technical support. Assist in the maintenance, installation, test and/or
repair of submarine systems and equipments including AN/BQQ-10, AN/BSY-1,
OA-9070, OK-276 and associated auxiliary sonar equipment. Providing
technical submarine acoustic systems support during Combat Systems

Responsible for the business development of the department and the writing
of estimate, Statements of Work (SOW). Other duties and responsibilities
include daily operation and scheduling of field services team(s).
Coordinates all inquiries for Field Services with customers and various
divisions and maintains customer relations with numerous clients both
military and commercial. Provides technical assistance to customers and
coordinates troubleshooting activities. One of only two certified/approved
Blown Optical Fiber (ABF) instructors and lead troubleshooter for the
manufacturer, General Cable Corporation. Only person qualified as
inspector of ABF system in accordance with manufacturer and military
specifications. Provided technical assistance to military installations
and for Field Services projects. Performed emergency LLWAA system repairs
on the USS Virginia for Electric Boat Corporation. Installed Fiber Optic
backbone onboard the newest designed nuclear submarines. Maintaining,
terminated and re-termination and inspection of fiber optic cables at the
school house (Gallery and Taylor Hall) at NB Dam Neck. INSURV inspections
on DDG's, CG's and CVN class ships. Involved in the testing and repair of
the MC3/MK-II for the GPS and CIWS system(s) onboard the USS Ronald Reagan
and other naval ships. Specialized in the proper repair and testing of the
hermaphroditic connector in accordance with the MIL-STD-2042B. Terminated
and tested fibers on various platforms/systems to include GEDMS, SQQ-89 (A)
V-15, Smart-ship, ADMAC, GIG-E on LPD class, SSDS and NSSM Repaired
aviation fiber optic cables on the F/A-18, AV-8, Boeing 757 and 727 and the
blimps used by the US Marine Corps, NASA and the US Navy. Conducted the
termination and testing of fiber for the Pakistan Navy on the CIWS system
purchased through FMS. Assisted in the troubleshooting of one the United
States Secret Service training sites

Increased the number of classes offered annually by almost 300%. Revised
and edited the curriculums for both military and commercial training
classes. Developed the commercial training manual and study guide, and
developed the military training manual and study guide used at the Fleet
Training Center. Assisted in the development of the Air Blown Fiber Optic
[(ABF) Blolite] manual and course used by General Cable Corp. Assisted in
tool kit development and in curriculum/training sales activities. Assists
in curriculum development and conducts Aviation (38999) training.
Responsible for re-certification of other KITCO instructors. Conducted
shipboard CSRR and assisted in reviewing MIL-STD-2042. Constructed
Measurement Quality Jumpers (MQJ) in accordance with MIL-STD-2042.
Provided onsite technical assistance and troubleshooting. Conducted
training classes for 3M on all fiber optic connectors.
Analysis and Technology - Electronics Technician II September1992 -
October 1998
First level Supervisor for electronics technicians. Assisted in the
development of numerous engineering changes for the AN/SLQ-25A. Involved
in special Navy (CNO) projects involving fiber optics. Performed major
structural reconfiguration to facilitate the installation of the Mk 32 SVTT
launchers. Member of the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) for the AN/SLQ-
25A and AN/SQQ-89. Conducted and performed the installation of the AN/SLQ-
25A onboard foreign military ships. Performed all the ordering, assembling
and shipping for the SHIPALT's. Assisted in the installation of the
conformal array onboard the USS Duluth, as a special US/UK project.
Liaison between the Turkish Navy and the German shipyard (Blohm+Voss AG)
for the installation of the AN/SLQ-25A onboard the TCG Salihreis.
