Developed a process for handling vendor consignment. KLS did not want to buy material on consignment basis as SAP does not allow this to be shipped to customers on consignment. We changed the process to buy the consignment material using a regular purchase order, but use non-reportable accounts for posting at the time of GR.

Set up the batch determination strategy, so that batches for components will be selected based on FIFO when production order is released.

Studied client’s business and demonstrated SAP best practices to the client.

Developed a process for part and BOM upload.

Webb NM uses batch number on work orders to track them through the shop floor. Came up with the solution to use the sequence number field in production order to be used as the batch number equivalent. This helped them to release, print all production orders by sequence number. Also the sequence number is printed on the shop floor papers, so shop can use it to track through the floor. This was very important for them as they make the parts for project or sales order.

Defined/changed navigation profile to add the transaction “Convert Planned Order” to enable the user to assign the sequence number to production orders at the time of converting from “MD4C” transaction.

Developed a RICEF to update the text in the production order for components with item category “R” and special procurement “51”. This was required as the text needs to get copied to the purchase requisition to let the vendor know how many pieces of what length are required for that PO.

Developed a RICEF (interface) to send the SAP production order information from SAP to BICS and get the data from BICS to SAP for time. Shop floor people scan time against SAP production order into BICS and the data is sent to SAP through the interface. This data was processed using CO11N transaction.

Setup the production scheduling profile for make parts to determine the order type based on “Make to Stock” and “Make to Order” scenario.

Webb had multiple manufacturing facilities in US and Canada. Defined special procurement keys for demand generation between the plants.

Defined Checking control to come up with the missing parts message both at the time of creation and release of production orders. The “Scope of Check” included only stock.

Defined “selection profiles” to be used in reporting transactions. This helped the users to run the reports for production orders based on more than one status.

Created the transaction variant “ZCS02” to make the change field mandatory to change BOMs.

Defined the “Cross Plant Material Status” 99 and assigned it to material type “HALB”. This helped the user to know which make materials needed routing. User would remove the status after the routings were created.

Changed Routing selection id to include “Reference Operation Set”.

Demonstrated the relationship between cost centers, activity types, work centers and routing to the business users. This helped them to define the activity types.

Changed the process of generating the transfer requirements for production orders.

Responsible for setting up the special procurement types between various plants.

Developed a process for close-out materials.
