Over 30 years of continuous safety experience and 10 years combined
environmental involvement of activities that include Safety and
Environmental Engineering, loss prevention through design, construction,
pre-commissioning, shutdown and turnaround, Rigging lifting operations,
Heavy lift planning, commissioning and start-up of major projects. Having
worked extensively in many theatres of operation including the British,
Dutch and Danish sectors of the North Sea, South America, the Middle and
Far East.
My experience includes participation in HAZID and HAZOP studies, loss
prevention regulations, the review and collation of control documents and
drawings, client representative for safety case documentation, writing and
editing of detailed reports, specifications, procedures and audit
protocols. Formal audits of onshore and offshore plants, platforms,
operations, suppliers, contractors, civils and site facilities, and the
interface of safety related concerns including training and inductions for
personnel and hands on safety inspections in the work place.

Shell Bonga Project.
Reporting to the Project and Construction Managers during the design,
engineering and construction of 24,000te Topsides which was modular built
in Holland, the UK and Nigeria. The integration of the topsides modules
onto the hull of the FPSO Bonga was completed under EPIC Contract by Amec
in the UK. My responsibilities as the Client Snr. Safety Engineer /
representative included over viewing and assisting the contractor and
ensuring both contract specifications and corporate standards were
maintained. My specific duties have included:
Involvement during the Safety Case analysis, including HAZOP and
HAZID, Cause and Effects, Design Safety Reviews and implementing a Hazard
and Effect Management Process (HEMP) during this multi contractor EPIC
Contract.
Developing and implementing Safe Construction and Operational
practices, procedures, Permit to Work system and procedure, company and
area specific safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Conducting environmental and safety audits on the operations of the
Contractor, the vendors and sub-contractors, working for or supplying
services to the main Contractor and Shell. Follow-up on audits and
approvals, making recommendations for improvement and change and
negotiating the required changes with the companies and management's
involved.

during this EPIC contract which has been constructed at Hyundai Heavy
Industries in Ulsan, Korea. My duties have included involvement during the
Safety Case analysis, HAZOP and HAZID, Cause and Effects, Design Safety

of the company and on the vendors and contractors working for or supplying
services for Veba Oil. Making recommendations for improvement and change

Reporting to the Managing Director, working from the Qatar and Danish
offices both independently and with the Corporate Group at the offices in
both Copenhagen and Esjberg during the development of the Qatar Operational
arm of the company. Involved in the design, engineering, and construction
and commissioning of the Al Shaheen Offshore Facilities. Responsibilities
included conducting Safety Case analysis, for the development of the Al
Shaheen Offshore Development of 3 fixed Platform complexes. The Hazops and
Hasid's for the early production operations, conducted from temporary
facilities onboard Jack-up's, by Contractors.

auditing, exercising and debriefing the same. Reviewing and updating all
procedures as conditions and work processes change. Formulating training
programmes and implementing the same. Representing Maersk Oil in both
National and Regional Governmental organisations with regard to formulating

Employed by the civil and engineering contractor during the construction
and commissioning of the 3rd LNG train on Das Island in the Middle East and
the Greenfield development of the Qatar Gas LNG plant in Qatar. The first
project being a construction within a "Live Plant" my duties included the
Safety case Analysis, Hazid's, Hazop's coupled with the training of
personnel, Safety and Environmental audits and the development and
implementation of safety and environmental procedures to encompass the
overall operations. Over 9000 personnel were involved during each of these
construction projects with the safety interface between contractor and
client being co-ordinated by a field safety team with whom I developed
bridging procedures to ensure the compliance with client requirements.
