Finance Manager, Tea Warehouses Limited
A privately owned FMCG Warehousing, C & F and Logistics Company based in Mombasa with an annual turnover of over Kes. 250 Million on my exit. * As Head of Finance team I was tasked with the strategic plan of reversing the Low turnovers and loss making position the Company was experiencing at that time. I focused on Income growth, Cost controls, Customer Care and Infrastructure Developments, I prepared a 3 year strategy paper on the above and successfully executed it by downsizing on establishment, structural facilities, analyzing and restructuring the systems procedures and processes and re-invested the savings arising thereon on Income generating assets and Cost control assets leading to turnovers of over 100% within 4 years. * On Infrastructure Developments I presented a Kes: 400million financial project appraisal for a 200,000sq ft warehouse purchase and obtained Board of Directors and Housing Finance Ltd approval for the project. * To increase our Income I recommended and appraised a purchase of Two (2) Haulage Trucks instead of Outsourcing this Service. This was a Local shipping Agency for Global Shipping Conglomerates, P& O Nedlloyd
(Netherlands)and Mitsui OSK Shipping(Japan) Companies in Kenya. Managed the Accounting, Administration and Human Reource functions of a sister Company Kenya Container Terminal Ltd, a Sea Freight Container handling, repair and storage facility for these Conglomerates in Kenya. I was tasked with setting and executing on business strategy that resulted in the Annual Turnover improving from approximately Kes: 4 Million to over Kes:20 Million over five (5) years period. * Presented Financial appraisal and obtained Board approval for construction of office block (12 million) and container lifting truck (6 million) and Depot upgrading worth Kes: 3 million. * Presented Financial appraisal for Kes: 2 million and obtained Board approval for an Accounting Software-ACCPAC (DOS VERSION) purchase.
